Sweet x Gelato Pique

The August issue of Sweet (S$17.20), with pop star Namie Amuro on the cover, landed today at Kinokuniya. I picked up a copy mainly for the Gelato Pique terry cloth zip pouch and scrunchy in a most delightful baby blue "choco mint" print. Gelato Pique is a Japanese homewear and accessories brand, all in sweet pastel shades, that debuted last year.

The scrunchy is just the right size for my hair and feels quite well made, not flimsy like some thin satin scrunchies I've gotten with other magazines.

The brand tag on the scrunchy.

The pouch is fairly roomy but it's not padded at all so I would not put any fragile/breakable cosmetics inside it. This is more suitable for holding plastic powder tubs or skincare bottles.

Just to give an idea of its size, it can hold up to 9 Jill Stuart palettes.

Some Gelato Pique products featured in the magazine.

Check out this vanity pouch with an inbuilt mirror that lights up! You can view more of Gelato Pique's fall collection here.

And if you still can't get enough of it, the September issue of Spring will include another highly collectible pair of Gelato Pique hair accessories. This is due out on 23 July in Japan. It's just too cute! There is a short video clip on it here. The next issue of Sweet will come with a Paul & Joe Sister tote.

Very cool. Sweet is one of my favorite Japanese magazines, they always seem to have the coolest extras. I just got last month's with the Kitson bag.
