Majolica Majorca x Seventeen

Kinokuniya is giving a 20% storewide discount to its cardmembers from 3-27 December. I picked up the January issue of Seventeen magazine (S$14.90) which comes with a large Majolica Majorca pinkish red plastic mirror. After the discount, it costs just S$11.90. I also got the new issue of Chic magazine (S$2.80) which comes with a free Julie Hewitt Camellia Lip Balm and $5 Springfield voucher.

According to the package, the mirror is a large size which makes it convenient for makeup application as you can easily see your whole face in it.

If you're a Majolica Majorca fan, this is a great collectible! Majolica Majorca hardly ever does these freebie tie-ins with Japanese magazines. I can't remember them doing any over the past 2-3 years at least. The plastic lid and back cover are infused with silver glitter throughout.

The plastic lid also acts as a stand so this is convenient for keeping on your desk.

Inside, there is a detachable 8-page Majolica Majorca Christmas makeup booklet.

The February issue will come with a large shoulder bag. The release date is 26 December.

The Julie Hewitt lipbalm's manufacturing date is Feb '08 but it smells fine.

  3. Yes, I totally understand! I don't want the magazine at all except for the mirror. But at least it wasn't that expensive, with the Kino 20% discount. I'll probably pass the mag on soon to my office bar!

It's understandable that MM collaborated with a teen mag for this promotion as in Japan, MM is targeted towards the teenager-young 20s market.

  4. Julie Hewitt... I have never heard of this brand. Sounds high end to me.

    Where is it from Haru?

  5. Hi,

Julie Hewitt is a niche line based in LA, started by a makeup artist. They used to have a boutique at Pacific Plaza but closed down several months ago. Not sure where it is still being sold in Singapore.

  8. I tried it and liked it too! Not greasy or heavy and it applies smoothly too! But it will take me several months just to finish one so I won't be getting a back-up.

  12. Hi,
The Japanese version of Seventeen magazine is quite different from the Singapore/US versions. The Japanese version is more about clothing, hairstyle and makeup so I think it would be useful reference for you. You can browse the magazine at Kino before buying it. Just bring it to the Japanese books service counter.
