Finally broke out my Tokidoki Robbery Palette today for the first time after purchasing it last month. Of the three palettes inside it, I was naturally drawn first to Rapina, thanks to the smoky green shades in it.
The three shimmery green and silver shades are paired with a flat matte black that makes for a fabulous liner shade or for creating a greater smoky effect. Using Beauté de Kosé Eye Fantasist GR751 Dew Green as the base, I applied Liberty from the inner corners to the middle of the lid, LA Gun from the middle of the lid to the outer corners, Bullets in the crease, inner corners and along the lower lashline, and Adios along the upper lashline.
The eyeshadows apply sheer at first and need to be layered a few times to achieve a rich metallic intensity. They are not as intensely pigmented as Sleek or Urban Decay, but it does allow you to build up to your desired intensity gradually. During the application process, there was quite a bit of fallout but aside from that, the eyeshadows stayed on well through more than 8 hours.
The other products I used today were Maquillage Lasting Stick Foundation UV Pink Ochre 10, Jill Stuart Loose Powder 01 Natural (not pictured), Topshop Gloom Lipgloss, Benefit It Stick, K-Palette Real Lasting Eyebrow 01, Visee Wide Impact (Curl Long) mascara BK002, and Hourglass Calligraphy Liquid Eye Liner in Ebony.
The Polpettina blush shows up well on my skin with a lovely glowy glimmer. It's not so crazily pigmented that it gives you instant clown cheeks, and was very easy to blend. I liked this very much even though it did fade somewhat after several hours.
This morning, I had a near disaster when I grabbed the Hourglass Calligraphy Liquid Eyeliner thinking that it was the K-Palette eyebrow liner, as they both have brown packaging. An instant later, I had a inky black streak of eyeliner running halfway through my eyebrow! Fortunately, I was able to wipe it off before it set... phew!

LOL!!! The same thing happened to me too!! I grabbed my Kate superliner thinking I had the Kate liquid eyebrow (same packaging, same color) & applied it to my brows! Luckily I discovered my mistake quickly (actually was very obvious as the liner is a rich black) & managed to remove it before it sets... From then on, I separate the 2 so I won't make the same horrible mistake again!!!!
ReplyDeleteyou look great in silvery greens! nice combination of e/s and blush in that palette :)
ReplyDeleteThe texture is so refined, they look like they came from a Japanese brand. :)
ReplyDeletePretty look! This is one of my favorite palettes in the Tokidoki robbery collection, and some of the colors remind me of what's in UD's BOS III.
ReplyDeleteI think the palette I'm going to have the hardest time with is the one that comes with the acid green and dark blue shade.
I really got to go take a look at the Topshop cosmetics now.I have been putting it off for a long while even though many beauty bloggers have been raving on the cream blushes etc. Especially love your lip color which looks so intensely vampy gothic plum in the tube but appears such a nice berry color on your lips. It really complements your skintone very well looking chic and nothing too much on the'dark' side.
ReplyDeletewow,, this palette sounds good!!
ReplyDeletebtw,, merry x'mas ar haru~
Merry Christmas to you too! :-)
