Anna Sui Spring 2015

Anna Sui will release the following new products on 4 January in Japan:

1. Curl & Volume Mascara (3000yen, 5g): Contains 'volume up powder' and 'volume up smooth polymer'. Waterproof and sebum/sweat-resistant.


2. Length & Separation Mascara (3000yen, 5g): Film-type mascara that can be removed with just warm water. Contains both hard and soft fibers for lengthening. Sweat and sebum-resistant.


3. Mascara Primer & Top Coat (2500yen, 5g): Waterproof, sebum and sweat-resistant mascara primer and top coat with a small screw brush for ease in reaching the lash roots. Helps to keep the lashes curled all day.


4. Nail Color N: 5 new shades (1400yen, 8ml)

Addiction Glow Powder Foundation Pure

Addiction will introduce a new Glow Powder Foundation Pure SPF22 PA++ (3500yen for refill; 2000yen for case) on 13 February in Japan. Available in 5 shades, it's designed to glide onto skin and provides long-lasting coverage of pores and imperfections. There will also be a matching pearl-infused Primer Glow Pure (30g, 3800yen).

Za withdraws from Japan

WWD Japan reports that Za will be pulled from the Japanese market in end-March 2015. Za was only launched in Japan in September 2012 and is currently available in 377 locations. The brand will continue to focus on its other 13 Asian markets including China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. My guess is that the brand's plain packaging was just not attractive or unique enough to stand out in the ultra-competitive Japanese market.

Addiction Tokyo Mon Amour Compacts

According to Tomichi, Paul & Joe will release this limited edition Protecting Pressed Powder with a matching drawstring case on 1 March in Japan. The print is from their menswear Spring/Summer 2014 collection.

1. Shaun The Sheep collection comprising Lip Essence Stick N (1000yen), Lip Essence Deep Moist (1200yen) and Lip Essence a (1200yen) (15 Jan)

2. Jelly Mousse (165g, 1500yen): Grapefruit-scented mousse facial cleanser. (19 Feb)

3. Heart Face Color (5.4g, 1500yen): Limited edition pore-concealing face touch-up powder with a heart motif in a pastel blue compact. (19 Feb)

4. Herbal UV Jelly SPF50+ PA++++ (70g, 1350yen): Light-textured jelly sunscreen. (12 Mar)

Maquillage Spring 2015

Maquillage will release a new Dramatic Mood Veil (Face & Cheek Color) in two variations (8g, 3500yen with case; 2500yen for the refill) and a Dramatic Mood Potion (Eau de Parfum/Body Fragrance Oil) (3500yen, 30ml) on 21 January in Japan. The Dramatic Mood Veil comes in two variations, RD100 and PK200, each being a combination of five tones. The included applicator has a brush end and a domed sponge end. The domed sponge is used to apply the red blush tone in the centre in a soft tapping motion, followed by blending the right and left corner blending shades around the periphery of the centre shade. The lower left corner shade is a 'clear color' for the under-eye area (to be applied with the brush) while the upper left shade is a highlighting shade for the top of the cheekbones (to be applied with the brush towards the outer corners of the eyes).


The Dramatic Mood Potion is a white floral and rose scent that can be used on the hair and body.

Cle de Peau Spring 2015

Cle de Peau's Spring 2015 makeup collection is a tiny one, comprising two Ombre Couleur Quadri n quads 309 Fairy Dust and 310 Moon Beam (5000yen for refill, 2500yen for case) and three Rouge à Lèvres #112 Satin, #211 Silk and #313 Velvet (4000yen for refill, 2000yen for holder). Due out on 21 January in Japan.
