Shu Uemura will be collaborating with famous Japanese artist Takashi Murakami for their holiday collection this year. Set for release on 1 November in Japan, the 19-piece collection includes eyeshadow and blush palettes, cleansing oil, false lashes, nail polishes, the S curler with a quirky charm attached etc with the prices ranging from 1470yen to 27300yen. (I wonder if this means that there will be a traincase as only Shu's traincases reach that price point). The two palettes will retail at 8400yen each as part of the Shu Uemura 6HP Christmas Palette Kit, which also includes a pouch. See close-up pics and swatches on Frillseeker. (Edited to add: Looks like there will be a traincase according to this pic by Abe Sawako. See another pic of the nailpolishes, pouch and curler here and here, plus collection display here and some models from the press event in Tokyo.)
It features illustrations of the Pink Princess heroine from Murakami's Six Hearts Princesses anime and a new Black Princess character created with Shu Uemura to embody the multi-faceted personalities of women. Below is a pic of the press invitation by Abe Sawako. According to WWD, the collection will also be available on the Shu Uemura USA website in November.

HOLY CRAP!!! It's so funny, I predicted a Murakami collab a while ago - I was wondering when he'd get into cosmetics! Thank you for the heads up!!
Oh my gosh! I must be on the lookout for this collection. So adorable!
Thank you for posting this! I actually rely on your blog to find out about the new Shu stuff, as we don't have stores here in the U.S. Much appreciated!
hi Christina,
You're welcome! I was incredibly excited to read about this collection too, think it blows the Karl Lagerfeld one out of the water :-)
hi Curator,
it was just a matter of time, I suppose!
