Chanel White Fleurs
Here's another pic from Biteki.com of the Chanel White Fleurs collection to be released on 26 June in Japan. This will be available in Singapore as well but I'm not sure about other countries. The collection includes Le Vernis Blanc Petale (3045yen), Le Quatre Ombres White Whisper (7245yen) and Fleurs Celeste face powder (8400yen), all of which are limited edition of course.

Shu Uemura Flagship in Singapore
Shu Uemura will open its first standalone boutique in Singapore on 21 July at the new Ion Orcard mall! The flagship store will be one of the first to launch the new foundation bar and it will also have four beauty stations for customers to get makeovers.

And here's a sneak peek of the fall collection from Voce magazine: Primal Mix Blush Rhythm (3675yen). The collection is due out on 1 August in Japan.

Voce x Shu Uemura Tokyo Kamon Girls
The August issue of Voce is out now at Kinokuniya together with Biteki and Maquia. It comes with 2 Shu Cleansing Oil samples and 2 sachets of Shiseido Melanofocus EX whitening essence. The mag costs S$14 but you can get 20% off this week if you're a Kino cardholder.

Check out how huge the Shu Uemura Tokyo Kamon Girls bento cloth is!

I was expecting it to be made out of some flimsy thin cotton but instead it turned out to be a polyester textured cloth that is very Japanese and feels high quality (although it is made in China). It's really a steal for the cover price of the mag and a very affordable way of owning a piece of the Tokyo Kamon Girls collection if you can't afford the cleansing oils. Don't wait too long to get this as I'm sure it will sell out very soon!

RMK Eyeshadow & Blush Revamp
RMK's newly revamped line of 42 eyeshadows and 26 blushes are now available at the Isetan Scotts counter. The collection is designed to offer a variety of textures and improved finishes that are convenient and super easy for customers to use even if they are amateurs at makeup.

But be prepared for some sticker shock as the eyeshadows are S$56 while the blushes are S$63 (about the same as what a Chanel blush costs). The high price points will not be an easy sell in this economy, as you can get two MAC eyeshadows for the price of one RMK eyeshadow. Still, RMK must be doing something right as their total revenue rose 9% from 16.1 billion yen (S$240.7 million) in 2007 to 17.5 billion yen in 2008, according to an article in last Friday's issue of Urban in the Straits Times.

Some other interesting facts from the article:
*RMK sells 1000 units of its makeup base (S$53) every day in Japan.
*The new collection took about 8 months to develop.
*Each Asian-friendly shade and texture was perfected only after at least five tries.

Voce August
The August issue of Voce is a must-get for Shu Uemura fans as it comes with a square cloth (usually used for wrapping bento/lunch boxes) with the Kamon Girls print, a cleansing oil sample and a Shiseido Melanofocus EX sample. As a nod towards the dismal Japanese economy, Voce has also lowered the cover price to 500yen for the August to October issues.

The other highlight of the issue is the Voce Best Awards 2009 as voted by 120,000 readers plus 58 best beauty buys recommended by professional makeup artists. From this pic, it looks like Dior's Artistic palette took the top spot in the eyeshadow category.

The September issue, due out on 23 July, will include a fall collections booklet.

Guerlain Summer Splash
The Guerlain Summer Splash collection is currently on sale exclusively at Takashimaya until 25 June. The star item is the eyeshadow quad (S$87), which is gorgeous with a lovely silky texture and metallic pearl shimmer without any chunky glitter. The shades show up beautifully when used over Guerlain's cream eyeshadow primer.

The GWP for purchase of S$160 includes the usual assortment of skincare samples, an eyeshadow trio and pouch. Top up to S$200 and you can also receive a bag. Takashimaya cardmembers also get an additional scarf.

If that doesn't tempt you, the Takashimaya Guerlain counter is currently also selling the limited edition Pearly White Meteorites at the heavily discounted price of S$47, down from the original price of S$87! I would have gotten a back-up but it takes forever to use up one box of these. I highly recommend this as a daily all-over finishing powder which gives a lovely illuminating glow. This promotion is on until stocks run out so don't wait too long to snap it up!

Est Fall '09
Here's the promo pic for the Est fall '09 collection. The theme of the collection is "Anger is beautiful", which explains the frowning model in the ad. What an unusual way of selling makeup!

As usual, I've got my eye on the purple quad!

The collection includes four Eyelash Shadows which are waterproof gel eyeliners in #1 Platinum Black, #2 Copper Brown, EX11 Midnight Blue and EX12 Twilight Purple. EX11 and EX12 are limited edition.

The collection will be released on 25 July in Japan.

Lavshuca Fall '09
While waiting for the photo of the new Lavshuca collection to load, I was chanting silently in my head, "Come on, Lavshuca, surprise me!" After the bland beige and pastel lovefests of the past few collections, I was not expecting anything interesting from Lavshuca. But look, new quads! While the two quads in the photo don't really appeal to me personally, at least they do not look like a rehash of previous products. The floral motif is also quite cute! The collection also includes the new Full Balloon Rouge, which is a liquid lipstick made with "clear concealing pearl" and "glossy pump oil". It comes in an one-click pen packaging so you can apply it easily with just one hand.

1. Light Mix Eyes: 5 palettes
2. Grade Color Eyes: new shade
3. Dual Prism Eyes: 2 new shades
4. Full Balloon Rouge: 15 shades
5. Rouge Star Classics: 2 new shades
6. Power Memory Eyebrow: 2 shades
7. Power Memory Eyeliner: 1 shade
8. Pore Concealer Base
The collection is due out on 1 August in Japan.

Kit Kat Galore!
Picked up these flavours of KitKat at the newly expanded Jurong Point shopping mall today for a good friend who lives in the US and doesn't have access to these goodies.

The flavours are Lemon Vinegar, Apple Vinegar, Tiramisu, Green Tea, Strawberry, Cookies and Jasmine Tea. I tried the first two and couldn't taste any vinegar in them at all so they're not that exotic after all! I thought the lemon one could have been better if it was more tart rather than sweet. The Jasmine Tea is my favourite because of its delicate fragrance. It doesn't actually have much of a tea flavour, but is more chocolatey.

Sonia Rykiel Lagoon Collection
The Sonia Rykiel Lagoon collection is out now at BHG department store in Bugis Junction. (I believe this is the only SR counter in Singapore.) While the collection looks very attractive in person, the price points are frightfully high with the Sparkling Face Powders retailing at S$85, the eyeshadow quad is S$79 and the lipglosses are S$49 (if I recall correctly).

The Sparkling Face Powders are quite silky, finely milled and apply as a shimmery highlighting shade without adding much color. I couldn't really see any difference between the blue/green powder and the beige/brown powder when applied. The SA said that these can also be used as eyeshadows. The shades in the eyeshadow quad felt smooth and were pigmented, requiring only one swatch to show up on the back of my hand. The quad is reportedly sold out in Japan but while it's nice, I didn't think it was particularly outstanding. The lipglosses were pretty but just too expensive for me.
You can read detailed reviews and see swatches of the eyeshadow quad on Fuzkittie.com and Autumn Masquerade.

Day out at Iluma & Bugis Junction
Iluma is a new mall that has just opened next to Bugis Junction. Went to check it out today and to my surprise, I found this shop, Play Imaginative, selling a wide range of Tokidoki merchandise, including all the latest bags! This is the first time I've come across a shop in Singapore selling Tokidoki stuff so I was incredibly excited!

The shop carries Tokidoki apparel, bags, notebooks and small figures. I didn't buy anything today although I was very tempted to get the Marina bag in the Discoteca print. The prices seem quite reasonable, when compared to the prices on the Tokidoki (Italy) website. For example, the Marina bag is S$259 versus US$168 on the Tokidoki website (where it has already sold out). Play Imaginative has all the latest prints such as Discoteca, Portafortuna, Geometric etc.

Love the window display! I also found the shop staff to be very friendly and helpful, which is always a big plus.

The interior of the mall. Not all the shops have opened yet but there were quite a few shoppers. The vibe is quite similar to Bugis Junction with mostly independent labels catering to the young.

Another eye-catching storefront.

Also tried out the Tea Dot cafe which sells all kinds of tea-inspired drinks, including a matcha latte with a hint of wasabi.

I had the Simply Matcha frappe while my boyfriend had the Matcha Latte and we also shared a chocolate mousse cake. Both drinks were yummy without being too sweet.

The geek in me got super excited at seeing the Transformers and Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince posters at a bus stop opposite Chijmes. Can't wait to watch these two movies!

Here are my buys for today! Transformers T-shirts and a cap from Flesh Imp at Bugis Junction for my boyfriend and I. Received a free lanyard.

Ayumi Hamasaki Countdown 2008-2009 concert DVD from Gramophone (20% off with Citibank card so this was S$36). And I finally found the Dior Iridescent #909 Pink May quint at the counter in Bugis Junction! I tried about 6 other Dior counters in town but they were all out of stock so decided to snap it up when I finally found it at Bugis even though it meant paying full price without any of the rebates I usually enjoy at Tangs/Isetan/Robinsons...ouch. Also got another sample of Miss Dior Cherie L'eau :-)
