Jill Stuart Spring '09 Fashion Collection

Fans of Jill Stuart's makeup line may be interested to check out her latest Spring '09 fashion collection, which can be viewed on Style.com. The collection featured ballerina-inspired loose, floaty, chiffon silks and satin outfits in shades of metallic silver, white, dusty pink, while the models had rosy baby pink cheeks paired with whitish, very pale baby blue eyeshadow and light metallic pink lips. Not an easy look to pull off in real life but I wonder if we'll see a similar colour palette in the Spring '09 makeup collection?

The big news from the show is of course the debut of Jill Stuart's makeup line, or rather a tightly edited version of it (only 20-30 products from the line which currently has 140) in Jill Stuart's stores in the US. Wall Street Journal reported that the US will get the eye products, blushes, lipglosses and nail polishes.

Jill Stuart will also be launching its makeup line in Hong Kong, following its release in Taiwan last year. I can only hope that Singapore will be next! Jill Stuart's makeup line brought in US$40 million in Asia last year, and I'm sure that number will grow by leaps and bounds in the years to come if the brand plays it right. With such a strong fan following, excellent product line and appealing packaging that practically markets itself, one wonders why Kose isn't being more active in ramping up distribution of Jill Stuart cosmetics outside of Japan.
