Jo Malone opens in Singapore

The Jo Malone store in Ngee Ann City opened on Friday. It stocks only the fragrance, bodycare and home fragrance lines, not the skincare line. The prices are marked up quite a bit though with the 30ml and 100ml colognes going for S$95 and S$190 respectively. In the UK, they cost £29.50/£61.00 (S$68.50/S$141) and in the US, they cost US$55/US$100 (S$91.50/S$166). The cheapest place to buy is probably the dutyfree in Heathrow Airport where the 30ml colognes are £24. It'd be interesting to see if such an upmarket fragrance boutique can survive the dismal retailing scene in Singapore.

Dear Shopaholic,

I have JM's Verbenas of Provence, Tuberose and Gardenia colognes. My favourite is Verbenas which is a fresh lemony fragrance. The only drawback is that it doesn't last very long on me, just a couple of hours and I'd need to re-spray.

I bought Tuberose and Gardenia several years ago when I was in London for work and ended up not using either of them much as the floral scent was a bit too heavy for me.

WHOAAAA SGD$95? that's more expensive than australia the land of all things expensive.

i think they could survive, after all sometimes i look at the high end stores in malaysia and wonder how they stay open afterall most people don't get paid that much.

my sister got me a bottle from duty free and i'm lemming for more!

Oh my gosh... like my MIL is going to be at Heathrow Airport a few times in the weeks ahead! Ooo... tempting.

Serious. I was there on last Friday & didn't see the shop open. Maybe it was later in the day.

BTW, the Hello Kitty collaboration with MAC has released but I was told most stocks are already sold out. I think with every purchase you will also get a Hello Kitty tote bag for free.

I had swatched the new Ettusais Sweet Marble Girl's Recipe lipgloss & blushers on my hands over the weekend. Nothing special. Think I can save on these.

Body Shop has launched limited edition Japanese Cherry Blossom Body butter, lotion, shower gel & EDT. I think the body butter smells the nicest & most lasting.

does OG carry lunasol?

quite disappointing that the prices are marked up so much... the UK prices would have been acceptable

Hi Cath,

There is a Jo Malone store in one of the terminals of Heathrow Airport, I think it is T3 but please check the Jo Malone website to confirm. I'm not sure if JM is available at the other terminals.

Lunasol is available only at the Kanebo counter in Takashimaya.

The lace compact blush frm Jill Stuart is limited edition from last summer.

I was told the FiFi Lapin range of Lesportsac bags are out. How come I don't see them selling at Takashimaya nor Isetan?

Hi,
I don't know if the Fifi Lapin will be available in Takashimaya/Isetan or when they will be available. I think it's best if you can check directly with the staff at these stores.

Dear Iba,

Thank you for your kind comment! I'm not Japanese, I'm a Singaporean who got to live in Japan for 4 years and fell in love with their many great brands.
