Maquillage Xmas Set

The Maquillage Brilliant Glitter Makeup Collection set has arrived at the Shiseido counter in Metro Paragon. It costs S$72 (in Japan, it is 4200yen which is about S$65) and because it is a promotional set, it is not available for the 20% credit voucher that you can get with most beauty purchases at the Metro sale this weekend. It includes a Full Vision Mascara Brilliant Glitter #66 (purple glitter mascara, full size), Dual Diamond Eyes BR230 (shimmery off white and brown eyeshadow duo), Glossy Perfect Rouge Palette (6 lipstick samples) and Paper Powder Day Protecter (oil blotting sheets).

The lipstick samples come in very small and shallow wells inside the palette so don't be fooled by the size of the palette case. The Lancome SA was nice enough to open up the rouge palette and the eyeshadow pot to show me the shades inside (but no testing). Unless you really like the shades, I would say this set is quite expensive considering that there are only 2 full sized makeup products in it, aside from the oil blotting sheets and the rouge palette.

The Lancome holiday collection was also on display at Takashimaya. The Sparkling Cherub Sheer Warming Illuminating Powder is S$65. I didn't play with it.

On a non-makeup note, this is Cedele's laksa pasta which I had at Ngee Ann City a couple of days ago. I always end up ordering this as it is totally yummilicious with lots of fried garlic :-)

Thanks for the update on the Maquillage set. I think I'll just pick up some of the Majolica Majorca or Lavshuca items.

Hi Haru, which japanese magazine would you recommend for a cosmetic junkie? So far i think voce does pretty gd coverage for cosmetic releases.

Hi Helena,
My favourite would be Voce, followed by Biteki. Voce usually has pretty good tutorials but if you don't read Japanese, it can be a bit tricky figuring out the instructions (if you read Chinese, there is now a Chinese edition). I usually buy only the issues with the seasonal makeup collections catalogues or if they have some really good freebies.
