Milly for Clinique - Pretty in Prints

This spring, Clinique has teamed up with fashion and accessories designer Michelle Smith, the creator of Milly, for its Pretty in Prints collection.

The collaboration with Clinique was a natural one for Michelle Smith, as the look of Milly is clean, youthful, modern and feminine, much like Clinique's image. Having used Clinique's products since she was 12, Smith is a fan of natural-looking makeup.

Slated for release in Singapore in mid-February, the centerpiece of the collection is the Pretty in Prints Compact (S$58). The sleek silver palette is a combination of soft feminine pink and brown eyeshadows paired with a Precious Posy Blushing Blush. The Milly print that adorns the palette cover and the accompanying makeup bag is inspired by a couture print from the 1960s. The collection also includes a Long Last Glosswear in Milly Pink (S$31), a warm toned melon, and Lash Power Volumizing Mascara (S$38).

At the media presentation was Celestine Sng, best known to many as MAC's first Asian Senior Makeup Artist on their PRO Team. Celestine has been working behind the scenes in the Estee Lauder group for the past several years so it was a real treat for me to finally see her in action after reading about her in various local magazines many years ago.

It was impressive to see the model's transformation from a fresh faced innocent look to one that is elegant yet youthful and sensual. I especially liked the Quickliner for Eyes in Really Black that was used to define her eyes.

To show how versatile the Milly palette can be, Celestine demonstrated three looks: "'70's Glam with a Modern Twist", "Au Naturel" and "All-time Pretty Girl".

I had an excellent time as usual with Mag (Makeupstash) and Sophia (Make-up Blogette). You can read Mag's post about the collection here.
