Stila has just opened a brand new counter at Sephora Ion in Singapore. It's a great relief to learn that Stila has not pulled out of Singapore and that it now has a stronger platform at Sephora Ion to showcase its products. You can read about the launch event at Sephora on Makeup Stash!, Icyabstract and Everbluec. The event was graced by Dominick Briguglio, Stila's Director of North American Sales & Pro Relations.
One of my favourite Stila products currently is the Custom Color Blush in Self-Adjusting Coral (US$20/£13). This was the second custom color blush released by Stila last year, after the blue-based pink version. There is a bronze version coming up as part of the Summer 2012 collection, which you can see on British Beauty Blogger.
Made in the USA, the blush supposedly reacts to your skin's pH to create a one customised shade that is perfect for your skintone. I find the soft coral hue to be much more flattering and easy to wear than the pink version which is likely to be too cool-toned for some ladies.
The pic above was shot indoors with natural lighting while the pic below was taken under a spotlight so you can see the tiny shimmer particles.
On my cheeks, it gives a healthy pop of color that looks close to the shade in the pan. There isn't a significant change in the color. Not only is the color payoff good (without being too crazily intense), it has an lovely silky texture that is easy to layer and blend. My brush picked up the blush powder easily without excessive powdery kick up. It also lasted well on me for more than five hours, despite my oily skin.
Here's a quick comparison with the other coral blushes in my stash.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Long-wear Blush in Tipsy is slightly more rosy and Benefit Coralista is more pink-toned than Self-Adjusting Coral. Stila's Make Me Blush (a limited edition blush released in January 2011) is the closest dupe to Self-Adjusting Coral.
Hope these swatches are helpful!

Hi Haru... Your skin seems to be really clear and smooth now! :D
Any changes in skincare routine or is it the weather over there better? Pls share :P
Hi Tammy,
Thanks but my skin is pretty much still the same as always, very oily and blemish-prone with enlarged pores and acne scars. It looks smoother probably because of the makeup, which is a combination of Paul & Joe Foundation Primer UV and Lancome Maqui Blanc Miracle powder foundation.
Just want to drop a note saying that I love your makeup for this fotd! You look positively radiant!
your make up today is really fresh and looks pretty, the foundation covered well and your eyes are perfect shaped by this eye shadow.
Wanted to comment saying your skin looks clearer too! heh. The blush looks lovely on you!
Thanks for the link :D
Hi Haru
i was just about to ask what base makeup you used because you look especially bright in this photo, fair and radiant till i saw you replied to another lady . u know how some stupid foundie just make one skin looks dull instead of lifting up our skin brightness? ya..like my recent purchase of the giogio armani foundie, so much raved by the makeup artist but i found the output is terrible, makes me looks dull and i am hating it man. regretted purchase and it doesn't come cheap :(
hi Ling,
Sorry to hear about your experience with the Armani foundation. Several of my Armani purchases have proven to be very pricey disappointments, including their Lasting Silk UV Foundation. Perhaps next time ask the SA to try it on you or if they can give you a sample, before deciding whether to purchase it?
Hi Haru,
yes sure, madam! :)
