Laneige is a brand that I've been thinking about venturing into ever since my friend, Fleckenschnitte, scored a super pretty 9-eyeshadow palette on Ebay that unfortunately never made it to Singapore's shores. The Muse also piqued my interest with her post on Laneige's new Spring '08 collection, Snow Bloom. This led me to check out Laneige's Singapore website, where I saw this advert for the limited edition Snow Palettes which are available only at BHG department store in Bugis. They looked intriguing so I went down today to take a look. I ended up bringing home 2 of the palettes and a Snow Crystal Shimmer Lipgloss in DYR435 Beige Brown, plus the GWP.
The Snow Palettes, which are part of Laneige's Winter '07 collection, have a lovely snowflake motif against a glittery background on the cover. Under the lid, there is a mirror which is always useful if you intend to carry the palette around for touch-ups. The palette also includes a brush and a double-ended sponge applicator. The SA said that the Snow Palettes were meant to be used as eyeshadows but the shades look like they can be used easily as blushes too.

Snow Palette #2 has shades in Ice Beige, Ice Gold, Ice Red, Ice Ruby and Ice Brown. The ice brown shade is the most pigmented with a super silky texture. Swatching the ice brown shade was what immediately sold me on the palette! The palette retailed for S$63, which is about the same price that one would pay for a MAC quad in Singapore. Although I hadn't expected it to be that expensive, I decided to go for it anyway. Plus it was still about S$20 cheaper than a Chanel or Dior palette.
Snow Palette #3 comes with shades in Ice Milky, Ice Rose, Ice Berry, Ice Lavender and Ice Wine. The shades in #3 are a bit less pigmented than the shades in #2 and there's less of a contrast between the different shades but they are still quite lovely on their own, especially if you like shimmery pastels. According to the tip sheet included with the palette (which unfortunately is printed only in Korean), the eyeshadow pan can be popped out and replaced with Laneige's eyeshadow singles or blush pans.
I skipped Snow Palette #1 which features gold and silver shades, since I hardly use gold and silver. The GWP, with purchases of S$150 and above, consists of a shiny black tote that's actually pretty decent. It's roomy enough to fit a magazine or book and lots more. It would also work well for the office. The skincare samples were Quick Massage Gel 30ml, Sun Block SPF 50 15ml, Tea Tree Makeup Cleanser 15ml, Pore Tightening Essence 5ml, Perfect Renew Skin Refiner 10ml and Perfect Renew Emulsion 5mlx2.
