Chanel Tokyo Happening

To my surprise, the Chanel counter at Robinsons Raffles City had the Tokyo Happening collection on display today. The face palette is S$87 but the sad news is that it has already sold out. The lipglosses are about S$37 and the nail polishes are about S$32. The collection was to commemorate the opening of the Chanel boutique in the Aoyoma district of Tokyo. The lipglosses looked especially sparkley but the display items were glued in so one could not test them. The face palette looks pretty but actually it's pretty much just a standard highlighter powder with a fine shimmer.

I didn't see this collection at other Chanel counters such as the one in Isetan (Wisma Atria) so it could well be exclusive to Robinsons. Either that or Robinsons got an advance launch, but I didn't bother to ask.

Oh wow that's so much cheaper than in Tokyo! I got it at 7500yen a couple weeks ago; ouch.

Hi gameazel,

Unfortunately, Japan does have some of the highest prices for Western makeup brands. The markup is just horrendous and easily 30-40% more than compared to Singapore or the US. Plus the yen is quite expensive at the moment relative to other currencies.

The Tokyo Happening collection has been popping up in a number of countries, like the US and UK so I guess it's not Japan-exclusive at all!
