MAC Warm & Cosy

The MAC Warm & Cosy collection was released at Tangs Vivocity today. Due to a delay in shipment, not all of the items are in yet. Currently, the two Mineralize Skin Finishes, nail polishes, eyeshadows and shadesticks are available with the rest expected to arrive tomorrow.

I got both the Comfort and By Candlelight MSF (S$46 each), Blissed Out nail polish (S$19) and the Full Lash Curler (S$26). The four eyeshadows were a tad too boring for my taste as I'm not into neutrals. The shadesticks were more impressive with excellent color payoff and a shimmery finish.

By Candlelight is likely to be the more popular of the two MSFs in this collection. In the pan, it is mostly a pearl baby pink shot through with patches of light gold shimmer. On the skin, it shows up as mostly a pearl-like glow without much color.

Comfort has more of a gold tinge. Some reviews have said that it can show up a bit too orange, but applied with a light hand, I think it should still be wearable.

Blisshed Out is a lovely pink-toned beige and not too pale such that it appears washed out.

Majolica Majorca Sale @ Watsons

Here's the list of Majolica Majorca items excluded from the 20% discount at the Watsons store in Ion Orchard.

Sephora Sale

Sephora is having a post-Christmas sale at its two stores in Singapore!

There are a number of products from Too Faced (lipsticks, lipglosses, eyeshadows) and Pop Beauty (face primer, Bronze/Glow Belle, Eye Trios) that are buy-one-get-one-free. Bare Minerals has some items that are buy-2nd-at-50%-off while Fred Farrugia has buy-2-get-3rd-free. Sakura skincare products are all on buy-one-get-one-free. There is no sale on Benefit, Make Up For Ever, Smashbox, By Terry, Hourglass, Estee Lauder, Dior, MAC, Clarins, Biotherm.

The Pop Beauty Cabinet (in green) is S$65 originally and it's also buy-one-get-one-free.

Too Faced Eyeshadows and lipsticks.

I picked up Mario Badescu Seaweed Cleansing Soap (buy one get one free @ S$48), Bliss Lemon+Sage Shower Gel and Blood Orange + White Pepper Shower Gel (2 for S$30), Pop Bronze Belle and Glow Belle (buy one get one free @ S$45) and four Too Faced lipsticks in Cougar, Totally Nude, Living in Sin and Drop Dead Red (buy one get one free @ S$34).

From left to right: Totally Nude, Living in Sin, Cougar and Drop Dead Red. Living in Sin is a lovely glossy sheer lilac pink that s already out of stock at the Ion store but there are several left at the Ngee Ann City Store.

Don't forget to also sign up for the Sephora Rewards programme which gives you a S$40 voucher for every S$240 that you spend (the points can be accumulated over a few purchases but only until 31 March 2010). The voucher can only be used on a select number of brands but it's still better than nothing!

Paul & Joe Website Update

The Paul & Joe website has been updated with the Wild Flowers spring collection! Only the Collection Sparkles are available to view now.

I'm hoping that there will be some lovely GWP items like tote bags or makeup pouches with the prints from this collection, all of which are quite cute. If you like the purple and gold print from the holiday collection, there is a new GWP travel case with this print at the Bugis Junction BHG counter. You can also download the new wallpapers here!

Jill Stuart Nail Lacquer N #106 Romantic Macaron

Did my nails with Jill Stuart Nail Lacquer N #106 Romantic Macaron from the Christmas coffret. This is the first time that I've tried the Nail Lacquer N formula and I have to say that I'm impressed! These pics were taken after 1 week of wear and there was no chipping or fading. The pearlesent pale pink polish applies smoothly without streaking or clumping and two coats are enough to bring out the color beautifully.

Anna Sui Gimme Fever

The Anna Sui website has been updated with the Gimme Fever collection.

The new Lip Rouge V (for "vivid) includes a black lipstick (#60). Wonder if this is a true pigmented black or a sheer black like those by MAC?

Majolica Majorca & Maquillage Spring 2010

Check out Biteki.com for pics of the Majolica Majorca & Maquillage spring collections. Majolica Majorca is introducing a new Lash Enamel Glamour Volume On mascara (1260yen) and Lash Bone Black Fibre In (mascara primer, 1260yen). The new Lash Enamel Glamour Volume On features the broadest mascara wand ever made by Shiseido and supposedly adds a lot of volume and length. The two new eyeshadow quads look too pale and boring though.

Body Shop Sale

The Body Shop's post-Xmas sale is now on! Check out the full list of promotions taking place from now till 10 January here!

Stila Spring 2010

Just spotted a slew of new Stila products on Sephora.com! And it all looks pretty interesting too. It's great to see Stila getting back on track, to doing what they do best and coming up with new stuff instead of just recycling their bestsellers.

Following on from the sell-out success of the Barbie eyeshadow palette with 12 shades, Stila has introduced a new line of Eyeshadow Trios (US$20) in six variations. But at US$20 a pop, these are a bit pricey. I think the Stila Loves Claire Pettibone palette will be a much more worthwhile deal.

The Jewel Eye Shadow Palette (US$32) and matching Jewel Lip Glaze Trio (US$32) in Pink Diamond, Amethyst and Golden Topaz also look lovely!

There is also a new Black Diamond Mascara and Yumberry Crush Lip & Cheek Stain. Check them out here!

theBalm haul

Sasa is currently having a 5% storewide discount until 3 January. There is also 10-20% discount on select brands, such as Clarins which is on 20% discount. If you are a UOB cardmember, you can also get a 3% rebate.

Since it is quite rare for Sasa to give storewide discounts, I took the opportunity to haul some theBalm items that I had been lemming ever since Sasa started stocking theBalm a few months ago. I got the BalmShelter tinted moisturiser in Light (S$39.90), Cabana Boy blush (S$30.90) and Shady Lady eyeshadow in Jealous Jordana (S$24.90).

Jealous Jordana is a gorgeous, incredibly pigmented shimmery dark emerald shade that is similar to MAC Humid. The product weight is 3.4g, which is twice that of MAC (1.5g).

Cabana Boy is a medium rosy pink blush with a lovely pearl sheen. Again, you get a very generous 8.5g/0.3oz of product, compared to 0.16oz for NARS blush and for 6g/0.21oz for MAC Powder Blush. The cardboard packaging and artwork reminds me a bit of Benefit but while the Cabana Boy does not come with its own brush, it does have a mirror under the lid.

Sasa also has a loyalty programme whereby if you accumulate 10 chops (each $60 purchase gets you one chop) within 6 months, you can become a VIP member and enjoy 5% discount.

Integrate Mineral Foundation

Shiseido has developed its first ever line of mineral foundations which will be released under the Integrate brand on 21 February in Japan. In its surveys, Shiseido found that most mineral foundation users were not happy with the lack of skincare benefits and inconvenience of using loose powder mineral foundations that had to be buffed on with a brush. Hence, Shiseido developed a pressed version that can be applied with a 2-sided sponge and containing mineral pearl to reduce the appearance of pores and skin discolorations.

The collection includes:

1. Mineral Foundation (Pressed): 3 shades (Ochre 10/20/30) with SPF16 and PA++

2. Mineral Foundation (Loose): Oil-free formula with SPF16 and PA++ 2 shades (10g)

3. Mineral Base: Primer (25g) made with 100% mineral water with SPF25 and PA++

All the products are paraben-free, fragrance-free, non-comodogenic and allergy-tested. There will also be a limited edition Mineral Foundation Set.

Anna Sui & Shiseido Spring 2010

Check out Biteki.com for pics of the Shiseido and Anna Sui spring collections!

The Shiseido spring collection, due out on 1 January in Japan includes: Perfect Rouge Glowing Matte (4 shades, 3675yen), Perfect Rouge Tender Sheer (4 shades, 3675yen), Luminising Lip Gloss (8 shades, 3150yen), Luminising Satin Face Color (6 shades, 4200yen) and Luminising Satin Eye Color (5 shades, 3150yen).

Majolica Majorca Spring 2010

Here are some more pics of the Majolica Majorca Spring 2010 collection from 2Channel (from Mina and Soup magazines). The pic below shows the limited edition silver foundation case and new Skin Lingerie Pore Cover (primer).

Shu Uemura Égérie

The Shu Uemura website has been updated with the spring collection, "Égérie" which features elegant, chic colors that also have a modern rock vibe.

The model is wearing Rouge Unlimited Nude Beige, both Satin Radiant Sticks in Highlight and Blush Color, Eye Shimmer Duo in Starry Violet, Painting Liner ME Black and Ultimate Expression Mascara (Black).

Majolica Majorca Sale

The Watsons store at Bugis Junction currently has a 20% discount on Majolica Majorca until 13 January. This is the first time that Watsons is offering a discount on Majolica Majorca so it's just too good to miss. Although the sign said that the discount is not applicable to new and promotional items, a check with the cashier confirmed that the new Christmas collection products are included in the discount!

I had previously balked at the original retail price but for 20% off, I decided to get the All Night Compact and Midnight Dresser. Both are priced at S$30.50. After the discount, each is only S$24.40. Pretty good deal! I'm not sure if the discount is available only at certain Watsons stores as MM was not on sale at the Watsons at Vivocity last weekend.

I liked the cheerful cherry red plastic compact which has silver glitter sprinkled on the top lid. It sits just nicely in my palm and is great for touch-ups on the go as you can just throw it in your bag without worrying that it will get dented.

The included cotton puff applicator feels quite soft. A clear plastic film is also provided to separate the cotton puff from the surface of the face powder.

The face powder (6.5g) has a very fine pearl shimmer and is not glittery like the Ettusais Platinum Star Powder.

The ingredients list. The printed expiry date is September 2014.

The Midnight Dresser palette's packaging looks more tacky as it is cardboard with the metal mesh printed on both sides.

Nevertheless, the interior is actually quite nice with a lace-like plastic film to protect the eyeshadows and lip shades. Both the eyeshadows and lip shades are easy-to-wear shades that would suit most complexions. However, the lack of applicators means these are less convenient for toting on the go. The expiry date is also printed as September 2014.
