Sephora Rewards: The fine print

Stopped by the Sephora store today to check out their new rewards programme. It turns out that you can register with a S$60 minimum purchase. For every $240 accumulated between 10 Dec 2009 to 31 Mar 2010, you will receive a $40 Sephora Voucher. But the catch is that the voucher can only be used on a very limited number of brands (about 20?) such as Bliss, Too Faced, Bare Minerals, Jack Black, Crazylibellule and of course Sephora's house brand.

Count me less than impressed.

It turns out I got a great deal on the Clean coffret of four 30ml fragrances! It cost me about S$98 including tax to get it CP'd from New York. At the Sephora store in Ion, a 30ml Clean perfume retails for S$62 (compared to US$38 [=S$53] in the US, but once you add in US sales tax, the price difference with Singapore is just a few dolars). If you like comforting, uncomplicated and unobstrusive scents, I do recommend Clean's fragrances. I actually liked all four fragrances in the coffret, so it was just perfect.
