Lancome Color Design Palette Amethyst Glam

The new line of Lancome Color Design 5 Shadow & Liner Palettes (US$48; 4g) in the US is a more vibrant and interesting collection of shades compared to the Ombre Absolue Impact 3D palettes that have been produced for the Asian markets. Out of the 10 Color Design palettes available, Amethyst Glam caught my eye with its stunning combination of shimmery pink, violet and royal purple shades. The top and bottom strips are the all-over base and liner shades respectively while the middle row contains (from left to right) the lid, crease and highlighter shades.

The layout of the shades is similar to Ombre Absolue but as you can see in the pic below, the pans in the Color Design palette are slightly larger compared to the Ombre Absolue Impact 3D G10 Étoile Du Soir (left). The Ombre Absolue (S$90) has double-ended applicators while the Color Design palette has two sponge applicators. Ombre Absolue is made in Japan and Color Design is made in Canada. Like Ombre Absolue, the Color Design shades are highly shimmery. The highlighter shade (extreme right in the middle row) is the most intensely sparkly and lustrous. The eyeshadows are supposed to last up to eight hours without creasing or fading.

I've been wearing Amethyst Glam for the past three days and truly love it. The texture is extremely smooth and the eyeshadows last incredibly well (when used over a primer) through more than 12 hours of wear without any shimmer particles falling on my cheeks. Below are three looks that I did with it.

For the first look, I applied the darkest purple shade along the upper lashline, the pink-toned purple over the eye socket area, the lavender shade above the crease and along the lower lashline, and the light pink shade over the browbone area.

For the second look, I applied the darkest purple shade along the upper lashline, the lavender shade over the eye socket area, the pink-toned purple above the crease and the light pink shade over the browbone area.

For the first and second looks, I am using Lancome Maqui Miracle Brightening Creator Compact Foundation O-01 and Shiseido Shimmering Rouge RD709 Lounge.

And for the third look, I applied the darkest purple shade along the upper and lower lashlines, the pink-toned purple on the inner half of the crease, the lavender in the outer V and the light pink shade over the browbone area. I finished by dusting the shimmery light purple shade over the eye socket area.

Here are the application tips for the day look.

And the night look.

It's purple and looked really great on you :D LOVE IT!
But it's unfortunate this palette is only available in the US while Asians can actually use it well as you do...sigh
