EOTD: MAC x Liberty Birds & Berries

I picked up some more items from the MAC Give Me Liberty of London from Tangs Vivocity over the weekend. The collection is exclusive to Tangs in Singapore. I had earlier purchased the Birds & Berries eyeshadow in Honolulu, but couldn't resist the quirky white packaging so I decided to get the Shell Pearl Beauty Powder and Dirty Plum Blush as well.

Birds & Berries is a gorgeous smokey emerald in the Veluxe Pearl formula which is the silkiest out of all the MAC eyeshadow finishes. It did not disappoint as it had good colour payoff and a lovely pearl glimmer. I used it along the upper lashline with a beige shade from Lunasol's Sheer Contrast Eyes #4 Green Coral over the browbone area and the blue and purple shades from Coffret D'Or Colour Mixing Eyes #4 Lavender Purple Mix in the crease and along the lower lashline respectively.

I am wearing Visee Lash Wide Impact (Curl Long) BK002 mascara and RMK Super Basic Liquid Concealer EX01 on the undereye area.

In this pic, I have Dirty Plum on my cheeks, with Shell Pearl Beauty Powder dusted on top. I'm also wearing my new Lancome Oscilation foudndation.

Here's a closer look at the MAC x Liberty items.

The Beauty Powder in Shell Pearl gives a lovely slight glow to my skin. When applied over the Dirty Plum blush, the Beauty Powder made the blush look more polished.

Dirty Plum blush is supposed to be a Matte but it appears to have tiny microsparkles in the pan, which are not obvious when applied. This requires a very light hand if you are fair skinned as it is pigmented and can easily look overdone. I'm not really loving this yet as it looked splotchy on my skin prior to applying the Beauty Powder, but I'll keep experimenting with different ways of applying it.

Thank you for the lovely review. Dirty Plum is from MAC's Pro Line and is extremely pigmented --I find it overwhelming unless I use a duo-fiber brush (skunk brush) and only use the lightest possible application. Honestly, the tiniest bit on my brush lasts me two days. That way I get more of a mauve glow and no splotchiness.

I put a picture at the bottom of this post to show how little needs to be used....

Thank you again--your site is so helpful!!!

That's a very nice way of wearing Birds & Berries, with purple. I have been considering different combination to wear this shade too. A very beautiful shade and great texture. Veluxe Pearl, of course!

Thanks for sharing this EOTD!

Wow great blog!! I'm planning a trip to Singapore... could you tell me if there are any free-standing Mac stores in Singapore? I'm looking for a place to use my MAC-pro card :) Thanks!

And if you've got any makeup/shopping tips in general that would be amazing :) Sephora is definitely on my hit list, do you think the one at Ion is the better one?

hi Amy,
Will definitely try out applying Dirty Plum with the MAC #187 skunk brush!

hi Elle,

I did an EOTD with the Lunasol Green Coral palette which you can see here:

Hope that helps!

hi Vonvon,
I like the smokey nature of Birds & Berries, which makes it easier to wear than bright teal/emeralds.

hi,
I think the Lancome Oscillation foundation is pretty good. It gives me medium coverage and a very smooth, almost creamy finish. But the oil control power is not that good and I have to blot every hour or so.

Hi Laine,
The Sephora at Ion is the largest store, so it's definitely the one that you should check out. Also do check out the following stores:
1. Takashimaya department store (has Paul & Joe, Anna Sui, Shu Uemura, Lunasol, Cle de Peau, Bobbi Brown, Benefit, RMK)

2. Isetan Orchard @ Wisma Atria (Paul & Joe, Laneige, Shu Uemura, Ettusais, Anna Sui, H20+)

3. Isetan Scotts (MAC, Origins, Bobbi Brown, Paul & Joe, Givenchy, Shiseido/Maquillage, Kose, Shu Uemura, Ettusais, Anna Sui)

4. Tangs Orchard (has Ipsa, MAC, Guerlain, Stila, Jurlique, Benefit, Shu Uemura, By Terry, Shiseido/Maquillage, Dior)

5. Sasa @ Wisma Atria (TheBalm, Pupa, I Nuovi)

6. Etude House @ the underground passageway between Tangs Orchard and Wisma Atria but the prices are quite a bit more than Korea

The freestanding MAC store is at Ngee Ann City (where Takashimaya is) but you can use your Pro card at any MAC counter, I think.

Ion Orchard also has the Korres and Bobbi Brown freestanding stores.

Enjoy your trip to Singapore!

Hi Iris,
would like to check with you what color did u get for Lancome's Oscillation Foundation?Would like to have some advice from you. Do you have any recommendation? My friend is getting it for me in the States but im not sure of the color to get. Im NC20 and am using Lancome's Maquiliquide BO-02 which i find is not exactly a good match.I prefer something more yellow based.
Thanks for reading.

hi,
I got #20 Ivory. I am also around MAC NC20 (but I haven't tried Lancome Maquiliquide). The Oscillation #20 Ivory is more neutral toned, rather than yellow. It's a perfect match for me, whereas the Lancome Blanc Expert Mineral liquid foundation in P-01 is a bit lighter than my skintone. If you want yellow-toned, then perhaps you can try Beige 20 or 10?
