MAC Superslick Liquid Eye Liner Marked For Glamour

At the MAC Fabulous Felines event yesterday, I received three of the new Superslick Liquid Eye Liners in Marked by Glamour, Nocturnal and Signature Blue.

The eyeliners retail at S$35 each and are limited edition with nine shades in total. These have been receiving positive reviews online for their lovely metallic intensity and incredible lasting power.

The unusual feature of the eyeliners is the tapered felt tip applicator instead of the usual brush. Surprisingly, this actually proved quite easy to manoeuvre. As the applicator tip is well coated in the liquid (but not to the extent that it is dripping messily), the application tends to be intense from the very first layer.

Whereas brushes applicators can sometimes get messy if the bristles splay unpredictably, the Superslick applicator offers good control and it was very easy to create a smooth straight line tapering to a fine tip at the outer corners. When applying the eyeliner on your upper eyelid, it's best to tilt your head backwards rather than tug your eyelid upwards with a fingertip. When applying to your lower eyelid, just do the opposite and tilt your forehead towards the mirror.

The eyeliner does take a couple of minutes to dry so it's best to avoid blinking vigorously while it is still drying. Once it dries, it does not budge, smudge or flake. The only slight drawback is that I could actually feel the eyeliner on my lid, though not in an uncomfortable way.

The eyeliner was easy to remove with Lancome Bifacil, and comes off in small metallic pieces.

Do check out Sarah's post for swatches of more of the eyeliners.

hi Jo,
I'm afraid not. The Superslick liners were specially prepared for the beauty bloggers who were invited by MAC to attend the event on Friday.

I have one too, Desires&Devices, and I love the color. I'm still learning how to use it, I seem to get my lashes painted with this too :D

Hi Haru, I love your eyeshadow here -- what are you wearing?

Thanks, Kate! I am wearing Maquillage Dual Glow Eyes GR273 which you can see here. It's a very simple look that I did with the light shade from the crease to the browbone and the dark shade from the upper lashline to the crease.

Hi Haru,

May I know the colour of the eyeliner you are using in your post? I've such a hard time looking for a non-smudge liquid eyeliner coz my eyelids are rather oily

hi,
The shade for this eyeliner is Marked for Glamour. My usual eyeliner, that you see in my other FOTD posts, is K-Palette Real Lasting Eyeliner in black. Both the MAC Superslick Liquid Eye Liner and the K-Plaette one (which can be found at Watsons) are very long-lasting and smudge-resistant.

Oooh, I thought it was the black one at first, On The Hunt? That's a patent black (I received that one). This one is nice!

Hi there Haru,

I've just tried the superslick liner at the MAC counter yesterday. However, it started to smudge after 4 hrs!! Can you recommend some other liners for my superoily lids that are available in SG?

Thanks!

Hi Jenny,
I recommend trying Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Liner which you can find in Watsons for S$18.90. It is quite easy to use, stays on well and draws a fine, precise line. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencils also have very good lasting power.
