Wet n Wild has been garnering tons of positive reviews over the past year with the introduction of its Coloricon eyeshadow palettes. Not only are these super affordable, the color payoff is surprisingly intense, on par with Sleek. These are available in 3 pan, 6 pan and 8 pan versions.
The 6 pan palettes are composed of 3 matte and 3 shimmery shades. I picked up this Lust palette on a trip to New York last year. Some of the shades look very similar to MAC shades, like Yogurt (light pink-toned beige), Sketch (dark purple) and Beauty Marked (black with red shimmer).
Using Pixi Lustrous Eye Primer as the base, I applied the the shimmery black shade along the upper lashline, the shimmery gunmetal grey in the crease, the purple shade blended lightly just above the crease and the light beige shade over the browbone area. Along the lower lashline, I used the purple and the grey shades.
The texture of the eyeshadows remind me very much of Sleek. The darker shades tend to cause quite a bit of fallout during application. The powder is so intensely pigmented that trying to wipe away the fallout with tissue often means smearing the powder across the under-eye area or cheeks instead. The fallout is messy to deal with, so I avoid doing my base makeup (i.e. primer and foundation) before my eyes. Having said that, the eyeshadows do last extremely well over many hours of wear without any fallout (unlike some of Lunasol's or Jill Stuart's eyeshadows that rain shimmer particles on one's cheeks over the course of the day).
The rich intensity of the shades also means that I spend more time trying to blend them out, whereas with other brands, it's the opposite with more effort being expended on trying to layer the shades up to the desired intensity.
The other products used are Lancome Maqui Miracle Compact O-01, Anna Sui Protective Foundation Primer C #200, Clinique Lash Power Volumising Mascara, K-Palette Real Lasting Eyebrow 02, MAC Wicked Ways Lipglass, Lunasol Coloring Cheeks #8 Medium Red and UNE Skin-echo Concealer E01.
Here's a second look where I applied the purple shade over the inner half of the lid, the matte dark purple shade over the outer half of the lid, the grey shade in the crease and the light beige shade over the browbone area.
I did this look several weeks ago so I can't remember the other products that were used. The silver shade along the lower lashline is probably L'Oreal HIP Color Chrome Eyeliner #915 Silver Lightning, which is fabulous. Overall, it's easy to see why the Coloricon palettes have been so crazily popular, with some going on Ebay for several times the retail price. Lust is a great palette for doing dramatic smoky eyes and it's so easy on the pocket at around US$5. Nonpareil Boutique carries Wet n Wild and ships internationally. Like Sleek, Wet n Wild's eyeshadow palettes are made in China. Tracy's Beauty Blogsophere has also reviewed Lust.

Thanks for linking me in your post! Yeah, apart from the intense dark shadow fall out, I quite like it. I wish we have them here, I would buy them all! :) How do you like the Anna Sui Primer C?
hi Tracy,
The Anna Sui Primer C provides a nice smooth canvas for applying foundation but unfortunately it doesn't offer any oil control at all.
the purple shade reminds me of dior's night butterfly purple shade.
Love the second look! You look great with intense colors as well, but I find the more fairy color combinations especially attractive on ya! Thanks for sharing!
I like these smokes on you. The colours look refined, despite their origins. A good buy!
