Coffret D'Or haul

The reason why I didn't pick up anything at Esprique Precious was because I was actually more interested in checking out the Coffret D'Or summer collection which has also just been launched at the Kanebo counter in Takashimaya. I have not been enamored with Coffret D'Or since it replaced my beloved T'estimo, but I fell in love with the new Color Mixing Eyes quads (S$54) which have a lovely shimmer in a colorful array of shades that are very easy to wear. I ended up getting #4 Lavender Purple mix, although I was also very tempted to get the blue/green quad.

The Full Keep Gel Liner DB-04 (S$38) looks like a standard dark navy in the pot but when applied, the lovely flash of midnight blue with sparkles is an absolute beauty. It also comes with its own brush.

The kind SA also gave me a soft cloth handbag as a gift :-)

Hi, Iris. Have been reading your blog for sometime now, and love it. Pls keep up the good work even tho'you must be busy with work.

Just 1 question, do you sell ur old issues of Voce and other Jap magazines? I want to get a copy of an old issue of Voce, dun think Kino has it anymore. Or do you know where I can find old issues of Jap magazines?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Tracy,

I just tried out the gel liner and the texture is incredible! Very smooth and spreads easily with excellent color payoff. I was able to line my upper eyelids with just a few strokes of the brush without having to re-dip into the pot. The lovely metallic blue glimmer is visible after application.

Hi sel,
Which issue of Voce are you looking for? I can see if I have it in my stash. I don't buy every issue of Voce.

I don't know of any website that sells old Japanese mags except Amazon Japan, which also lists items by third-party sellers but the shipping costs are likely to be very prohibitive.

I like that violet palette. I'm wondering tho, would Majolica Majorca's VI782 palette be a cheaper substitute to this? Texture wise Coffret D'or's one is smoother but I feel the colour payoff and the shimmers are about equal. I see alot of the other brands creating a violet palette as well this year. Would love to hear your thoughts ^_^

hi saintangelius,

The Majolica Majorca Jewelling Eyes VL782 is similar but I feel that the quality of Coffret D'Or is more refined and the shades are prettier. I don't own any of the Jewelling Eyes palettes so I can't say how they perform relative to the Coffret D'Or.

The colors are not totally identical so it really depends which color combination you prefer. I also prefer the packaging of the Coffret D'Or palettes as the mirror under the cover is very useful.

I was looking at this palette too after watching 'Queen' show and Kevin was using it to demonstrate how to create a subtle yet sexy smokey eyes on his model named Liz...Now i'm too poor to buy it... hahahaha...

Hi Haru,
Nice freebie soft linen bag too on top of your babies :) how much shall we need to spend to entitle this pretty bag?

thank you

Hi Pinky,
The SA just included the bag when I made my purchase, I think it may have simply been an extra she had in the cupboard as there was no GWP on display at the counter.

Woah, Thanks Haru! I shall go check out the liners! =D

Hi,

I think Kanebo typically gives a random gift once you hit $80, though it is not a stated rule.
