Yet another reminder of how fast the years fly by once you reach your late 20s. Jill Stuart cosmetics just held their 5th anniversary party in Tokyo on 2 June. CanCam magazine reported on the event here and also gave a preview of some upcoming releases.
First up is the Jewel Collection in August which includes lip colors in a rhinestone studded packaging that can be worn as a ring or necklace; and a face powder with gold and pink pearl. There will also be a Diamond Sparkle Nail Collection which includes a jewellery box and three nail lacquers in white, pink and black. Finally, a limited edition mirror will be released in October.
Has it really been 5 years since Jill Stuart debuted? Doesn't seem like that long ago that I was hotfooting it down to the first counter in Tokyu department store in Shibuya station when it first came out, and joining the mad queues to collect the various GWPs and Christmas sets. There was even one Christmas that my dear mother managed to snag 4 Christmas sets for me and my buddies by going to a couple of counters with her friend.
Then again, it has been almost 2 years since I left Japan. Quite a few things have happened in my life since then, and overall, I'm in a much happier place than I was at the end of my stint in Tokyo. And through it all, my Jill Stuart palettes have been a key staple in my makeup kit. Just looking at these pretty little gems is a quick pick-me-up even on the dreariest of days.

Wow, I can't believe time has gone by so quickly. That necklace/ ring looks ultra interesting. I can't wait to take a look at it. ^_^
Yes, I indeed do remeber that Xmas. All credits must go back to you and your dear mummy. =)
Dear Aya,
Rebecca Taylor is actually one of my favourite clothing brands so I'm definitely going to try to pick up the Steady mag!
I think the item shown in the pic is the face powder compact.
Hey AhCapp,,
the collection is a bit too bling for me! But I'm hoping there will be new palettes!
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so beautiful. it's like visiting a jewery store!
BTW, InRed issue 7 is out at Kinokuniya with the Foundation Addict lunch tote. The material looks really sturdy. I like the gold exterior. My mum was asking once I get tired of using the tote can I pass it to her to place mandarin oranges in it for her CNY visiting next year.
