Watsons haul

Drugstore shopping in Singapore has improved in recent years as stores like Watsons introduce a wider selection of brands from Japan, UK and the US. It's still not comparable to drugstores in the US but you do find surprising buys occasionally. At the Watsons store in Tampines 1 last Sunday, I was delighted to discover an Ardell stand-alone display which in addition to having a huge selection of false eyelashes, also had the Ardell Brow & Lash Growth Accelerator (S$12.90). I've used this before in the past with good results so I immediately snapped up a tube.

I also picked up a L'Oreal Elseve Re-nutrition ight Serum with Royal Jelly to repair my hair, which is dry and damaged from dyeing. I've only used it once so far but it worked very well and left my hair feeling soft and smooth for a whole day. Watsons was having 20% off on L'Oreal products so this was quite cheap, about S$14?

I have yet to find a loose mineral foundation that gives the lasting power and coverage of normal pressed powder foundations but nevertheless, I keep buying new ones to try. Since the Rimmel Lasting Finish Minerals foundation was quite affordable at S$25.90, I added #100 Ivory to my cart. I'm still testing it out but it's definitely not holy grail material. Looks like I'll have to go back to Lancome for a refill of Maquicake UV Infinite which is still the most impressive powder foundation I have tried in the past year.

Cute logo on the handle but you might as well bin this right away. The bristles felt scratchy against my skin. The brush is way too small for its purpose and makes it go on blotchy instead.

Like other mineral foundations, the instructions are to tap, swirl and buff. The product description claims to give up to 12 hours of flawless finish but I think that normal pressed powder foundations still have superior lasting power compared to loose mineral foundations.

List of ingredients.

I tried the Loreal's night hair serum, but I gave to my sister already. Didn't work for me that well, it just made it softer, that's all. I guess I need oil based, those work pretty much better for me :)

Glad that it worked for you!

Hi,

The Ardell helps my lashes grow longer in a shorter period of time. I have very few lashes on my lower eyelid and after using Ardell regularly, I noticed that my lower lashes became noticeably longer.

Not every Watsons carries the Ardell display but it should be easier to find it at the larger Watsons stores.

I had tried Mavala & Canmake before. Both didn't work out for me. I might give Ardell a try! As for hair, I'm using the Shiseido Tsubaki range of shampoo & treatment products. I must say my hair texture improves a lot after using Japanese haircare products.

hi iris! welcome back! I really like L'oreal royal jelly shampoo and conditioner so I can imagine the serum will be just as fab.

The powder contains so much synthetic stuff - it's definitely not a mineral foundation in my book.

Hi Fion,
I do not recall seeing it at Watsons when I was back in Singapore last month so I doubt it is still available.
