Biotherm White D-Tox BB Cream

Recently, Biotherm launched their first ever White D-Tox BB Cream SPF25 PA+++. Formulated for Asian skin, the oil-free cream promises a more radiant, hydrated complexion and is supposed to be suitable for sensitive skin.

At S$70 for 30ml, it's one of the priciest BB Creams. I think only Lancome and Dior are more expensive at S$78 and S$79 respectively. The Biotherm BB Cream is made in France.

It has a nice fluid texture that applies easily almost like a moisturiser but even when applied with fingers, I can see brush stroke-like lines especially on the cheeks, which required more blending with the fingertips to erase. It feels more lightweight than the typical dense cream texture of Korean brand BB creams. However, it gives a slight sheen to my skin and never seems to quite dry down completely.

Applying loose powder on top gave it a more polished appearance. In terms of oil control, it was average and I had to blot about every two hours. It's been a horribly sweltering weekend here in Singapore so I was glad for the sun protection offered by the Biotherm BB Cream. Overall, while the colour match is good, I would have liked it more if it had a more matte finish and better oil control.

The other products used for this look were Stila Fabulous in Fiji Travel Palette, Esprique Precious Ruffle Flare Mascara, K-Palette Real Lasting Eyebrow 02, Addiction #14 Azalea Lipgloss, Majolica Majorca Perfect Automatic Liner VI606, Lancome Natural Light Creator Bare Skin Perfecting Corrector Pen #1 and Jill Stuart Blush Blossom #1 Romantic Sweet Pea.

Here are some comparison swatches with other BB Creams. The Biotherm BB Cream is one of the more neutral-toned BB creams, not as yellow as the Dior BB Creme or as pinkish white as the Rachel K Mineral Colour Control Blemish Balm. It also doesn't have the slight grey undertone of the Skin79 BB Creams.

When sheered out, the shade differences amongst the various BB Creams become much less distinct. The Skin79 BB creams look slightly ashy here but when applied, they don't look ashy on me.

The above photos were taken under indoor lighting while the photo below was taken near the window with more natural light.

Below is the ingredients list for the Biotherm BB Cream.

Hi Haru, I have oily and acne-prone skin and am looking for a BB cream that will cover blemishes, but not lead to breakouts. Is there anything you would recommend? Thanks!

Hi,
Most of the BB creams that I've tried do not cover blemishes fully but you can always use a separate concealer for those. I like the Body Shop BB cream which worked quite well with my skin, but do give it a try in the store to see how it works with your skin tone as it comes in only one shade.
