Yesterday, Mag, Kas and I were invited backstage to watch the MAC team led by Senior Artist Beno Lim prepare the models for the Missoni fashion show.
Missoni was the opening show for the ongoing Audi Fashion Festival. The MAC team of 9 makeup artists were doing the makeup for 30 models.
The look for Missoni was very sleek and clean with an emphasis on strong brows, nude skin and sexy red lips. The brows were done using MAC Charcoal Brown Eyeshadow and Lingering Eye Brows Crayon.
Beno used Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium Deep to contour just below the cheekbones, Select Moisturecover Concealer to cover up any flaws and Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder to finish. The model's skin looked healthy and natural.
MAC Gloss was used to give a glossy sheen on the cheekbones and upper eyelids. (Gloss is no longer sold in Singapore.) Lashes were kept bare with no mascara and the lower lashline was lined with Graphblack Technakohl Liner.
On the lips, Beno used Burgundy Lip Pencil to define the lips before applying Russian Red lipstick with a lip brush. He also dabbed on a bit of Black Lip Mix to darken the shade. (Lip Mix is a MAC Pro product that is not available in Singapore).
The finished look was ultra modern and feminine, and not that difficult to re-create with one's own makeup stash.
Some of the other MAC artists at work.
Thanks to MAC for the invitation! If you are interested in the Audi Fashion Festival, do check out Fashforward.com which will be live streaming the shows from Tent@Orchard.
