Essence Nail Colour 3 and Marble Mania Lipgloss

Essence recently added a whole slew of new products to their permanent range. Naturally, I couldn't resist picking up some pieces to try.

First up are the Marble Mania Lipglosses (8m/0.27fl oz) which come in five shades and retail in Switzerland at CHF3.50 (about S$4.80) each. Made in Taiwan, these are described as a "high-shine lipgloss with 3 colour swirl". These have the usual sponge doe foot applicator, a very light vanilla scent and no taste. The doe foot applicator pulls out of the tube with very little product so it usually takes a few dips for one application.

From left: 01 Coral Whirl, 02 Peach and Mix, 03 Pink Twister and 04 Swirly Toffee

These apply quite sheer actually, adding just a light wash of colour to the lips without looking frosty. 01 Coral Whirl contains some tiny flecks of silver glitter but it did not feel excessively gritty on the lips.

The Nail Colour 3 is a new line of nail polish duos (2x4ml/0.13 fl oz) that can be used either individually or layered for a more complex finish. Made in France, these are retailing at CHF4.50 (S$6.20) each. You can view swatches on Beauty Scene, Miss Lipgloss and Beauty Nails Fun.

From left to right: 01 Midnight Date, 02 Shopping Trip in Soho, 03 Kiss On Top Of The Rock, 04 A Walk In The Park and 06 Ticket To The Show.

My eye was immediately drawn to 06 Ticket To The Show, a wonderfully inky black with rainbow shimmer paired with a dirty bronze.

Stop For An Ice Cream (part of 04 A Walk in The Park) is a very pretty pale icy blue that helps add sparkle when layered over other shades.

City That Never Sleeps (part of 01 Midnight Date) is a gorgeous duochrome blue/purple with emerald flakes.

I also picked up this Mini Lipgloss Set 04 London Calling (CHF3.95; 3x2ml).

The shades are a shimmery pearlescent white, a girly peach and a muted pink brown.

Thanks for reading!

These look so cute! Especially the nail polish and mini lip gloss set. I wonder when these (if ever) will arrive at Malaysian shores. >_<

Hello
Love your blog. Have you seen or tried the new Laduree line? Is it selling well? Any information is appreciated. We have Laduree in USA now but they do not ship and do not have the cosmetics.

Hi Marie,
I haven't tried the Laduree makeup. It is selling very well, from what I've read.

Hi Tavy,
Thanks, glad to hear that you enjoy reading the blog! Yes, Essence is sold in selected Watsons stores in Singapore, like at Ngee Ann City, but I don't think they have the newest trend editions and products yet.

Hi Haru,
I will be going to Taiwan. Any recommendation what make-up brand to buy there? I heard the Japanese brand are cheaper than S'pore. Tks! Kat.

City that Never sleeps looks awesome!!! The last I checked, our local counter still only had the Ballerina collection. I'm wondering if the Twilight Twins or the Circus one will ever arrive ...
