EOTD: Urban Decay & Lunasol

About to head out for reunion dinner with my mother's family and decided to go for an unusually bold look today that I'm sure will have all my ten-year old cousins sniggering in a fit. But I have fun with my makeup for myself, not for them, so they can sock it! This is of course not a look that I would wear to work.

Here's what I used.

I used the silvery light beige shade from Lunasol Sheer Contrast Eyes EX01 Blue Green Coral over the browbone area and the mint green shade across the middle of the lid.

Then I used a sponge applicator to apply Graffiti from the Urban Decay Deluxe Eyeshadow Palette from the upper lashline towards the crease.

Blended Ransom very lightly into the outer half of the crease and along the lower lashline.

Then I finished off by lining my upper eyelids with Urban Decay Liquid Liner in Minx, which is a beautiful metallic turquoise, and ModelCo mascara.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

I've done a similar look once on a Friday since we could dress down. I met up with some friends after work and they loved it! You should try it!

Hi Haru,

If it is of any consolation to you, I once had an 8 year old nephew call my smokey eye makeup "the eyes of devil", which subsequently earned him a good dressing down from his mother for being rude in front of everyone (and I suspect a good spanking when he got home for the lack of manners). Needless to say, although I was quite peeved at that time for reasons of vanity, I felt guilty (for getting my nephew into trouble) every single time my boyfriend teases by reminding my nephew that he made that remark, even many years after the incident. I have since toned down my makeup into something that children can understand, and have reserved my creativity for other occasions where I do not meet children. Just so that I do not have to live through such an awkward situation and get the kids into trouble :P

hi Laura,
thanks for sharing your story :-) I think the mother was right to reprimand him though, as that's often the only way to learn good manners. Children can be so thoughtless sometimes. I've learnt to take my cousins' immaturity as a given, and don't let it get to me or stop me from wearing fun makeup combos.

hi Gwen,
I used to wear lots of green and blue eyeshadows to work too in my 20s but rarely anymore, as I don't want people paying more attention to my eyeshadow than my work. My colleagues also mostly don't wear makeup so I already stand out as it is.

Hi Harumi,
Thanks for your comment! The eyeliner is very pretty and goes on exactly what it looks like in the bottle.

hi Heather,
Out of all the UD products I've tried to date, the most impressive ones are always the eyeliners. The shades go on true and last very well over several hours of wear.

hi kuri,
thank you!

Hi Mag,
Thanks! Happy new year to you too! So bored with all the shops closed for the next two days ;-(
