Tipped off by a reader that the Starbucks in Singapore also carries the Sakura/Cherry Blossom range, I headed down to the Starbucks in Holland Village first thing this morning. Turns out that we got some of the same items as Japan, such as the clear transparent plastic tumbler, but we got a different cherry blossom design for the hot drinks tumbler.
We also got a different sakura bear from the one available in Japan.
This furry friend is going to asiyakei in Canada :-)
My small collection of Starbucks tumblers. The blue wintery one on the left was released in December 2009 while the orange sakura one on the right was purchased back in 2006. There was also a bright red tiger print tumbler for Chinese New Year but think it's sold out already.
The Singapore version may not be as colourful as the Japan version but it has lovely details like the metallic finishing on the sakura tree in the print.
What's cute about this design is that there are pink hearts and sakura flowers printed on the external surface of the tumbler which makes them look like they are floating around the sakura trees :-)

WOw! I'm so jealous. I was looking to buy a starbucks tumbler and I'm a huge fan of Sakura... Too bad its not available outside of Asia, like all other good things =(
The sakura one is really pretty.
aaah, I love the Singaporean sakura too! They may even be prettier than the japanese ones! Hot tumbler FTW! <3
Ooooo....getting the tumbler too as well i guess! (^^) how much was it? $16.90?
I like the Japan's version of the sakura bear though...♥
how lovely! do you actually use them? i know i'm a cynic but i can't help to think that these are just plastic tumblers with paper inserts... but i am tempted to get one :p -stella
I do not patronage Starbucks but that tumbler looks really pretty! Am tempted to get one~
hi Lovedust,
I haven't seen the Valentine 2010 collection! Starbucks seems to introduce new designs very frequently.
hi Sheila,
I was very surprised that we got the sakura collection too. It's a pity that these are more widely available. But you also have access to many brands that we in Singapore don't, like Lush!
Hi Charissa,
the baby blue/pink tumbler is S$14.90.
hi Stella,
Yes, I actually use the tumblers daily for drinks throughout the day, starting with my morning coffee :-) They are a bit of a pain to wash though as the mouth is a bit narrow. In Singapore, you get a free drink with each purchase of a tumbler, so that really helps to make the tumbler seem more affordable as Starbucks drinks range from S$6-S$7 over here.
Also, in Singapore, you get 50 cents off a beverage if you bring the tumbler back to Starbucks to use for your order!
Hi,
I didn't know that we get a free drink with purchase of a tumbler here!! I bought two tumblers before but wasn't aware of this promotion. Do we have to claim the drink on the spot or is there a voucher issued with the Tumbler purchase for use at our next visit?
hi,
You can get the free drink on the spot (that's what I usually do). Otherwise, I think they will give you a voucher to be used on your next visit. But do note that the free drink offer is not applicable to all the tumblers. For example, the clear transparent water tumbler with the sakura print does not come with a free drink, but the hot drink tumblers (baby blue/pink) do.
i actually picked up this tumbler today as well [i guess its the same in hong kong the range]
i didnt get the thermos last year in japan [but i bought it for my sister] so this year, the bestie will pick it up for me XD
i LOVE the sakura collection!!! other than the tumblers, do sg bring in mugs, sakura drinks and cakes too?
hi Karen,
The Starbucks in Singapore also has the mug but not the cakes and sakura drinks.
Hey Yumeko,
I just asked a friend in Tokyo to help me pick up the Japan version too :-)
I also got the tumbler... Heard from starbucks that it's selling fast for the tumblers.
By the way, do u mind helping to get the jap version tumblers n mug? Thks...
hi Geraldine,,
I'm afraid I can't help with that.
Hi,
how much is the clear transparent one? thanks
hi Tracy,
The transparent tumbler is S$16.90.
hi does the bottle leak? i have one tumbler where i use for milo and the pic in it actually got milo colour... haha...
I had also just bought it from KL on Monday when I went to Starbucks for coffee!! Thought those will be japan exclusive, although the design is slightly different from the 1 in Japan, but this is also lovely!!
Hi Haru, do you know besides the Holland V outlet, which other branches carry the baby blue/pink tumbler? All Orchard outlets don't have?
Hi Iris,
I couldn't resist and got myself the sakura tumbler :) Got myself the complimentry drink voucher too. I told a lot of my colleagues about the free drink and none know about it.
I'm going to use my tumbler tomorrow at work. It'll brighten up my day!
Hey AhCapp,
I also started using mine today :-) It brightens up my desk too (amid all the rising piles of work) :-)
Hi Lin,
You can find the sakura tumblers at all Starbucks outlets. I saw it at the Tanglin Mall outlet today too.
hi,
I haven't encountered any leaking into the printed picture but the tumbler itself is not leak-proof in terms of the cap (but this is stated in the small card that comes inside each tumbler), i.e. even if you screw the cap on and close the flap, the liquid may leak out.
Hi all,
Latest update, the pink tumblers are sold out at Plaza Sg and Cathay. There are still a number of the blue tumblers at Plaza Sg. West Coast Plaza still has a number of both tumblers.
hi Jing,
wow, looks like you passed by several Starbucks today! :-)
Hi Jing,
I tot there's only the blue tumbler for the sakura print?
Do u mean the pink clear bottle?
Hi Iris,
Hehehe.. I know my tumbler will be buried by my piles of papers too! =)
Update on the blue tumbler:
Woodlands Civic Centre at 12:45pm today - Not even 1 at sight. They only have the transparent water bottle, the mug and the cute bear.
Bt Panjang Plaza at 6:30pm today - I took the 2nd last one, so 1 more left. Transparent water bottle and the mug are available. No sign of the cute bear.
But don't Starbucks replenish their stock? The branch at Woodland Civic centre told me that the 3 designs were brought in last week. N hey, it's only mid-week today. Sold out so fast??
i got my blue tumbler at raffles city today, there weren't any on the shelf, but the staff managed to find one for me in the storage
i find that the cap is a little difficult to lift though, afraid of breaking my nails
looks like the tumbler is the most popular as its the first one to be sold out!
although i'm thinking to go back and buy the mug as well, been looking for a wide-rimmed lightweight mug, any idea if this is also eligible for a free drink?
There weren't anymore of the blue tumbler at the Bugis Junction outlet either just now~
i wanted to buy too. but no more @ plaza singapura and compass point :(
Aww, so sorry to hear that you can't find the tumblers. Looks like these are really selling fast. I passed by the Liat Towers Starbucks today and it didn't look like they had any as well but I didn't go inside the store to check.
Heya! I did an entry on the Starbucks cherry blossom too but I focused on the mugs :P
Hope you don't mind putting your entry link in my mine for people who are interested in seeing the tumbler :P
OMG, I would die to get one of these. So pretty!!! Thanks for posting these pictures. It will give me something to dream about, lol.
I bought the clear pink bottle too, and because the girl at starbucks cathay gave my colleague a free drink (by mistake) for the pink bottle, so I demanded for one too ;P
I managed to buy the last one at one of the outlets. But no one told me about the free drink or coupon. So dishonest! And bad CS too, cos the guy was rather rough with my tumbler. Gonna claim from Starbucks and tks for lettin everyone know of the free drink. :)
Millenia Walk - sold out too. (^^;)
i got the last one.
I just got home with the blue tumbler! Called & checked all outlets in north & orchard areas only to find it at Tanglin Mall. 2 tumblers left on the shelf. I got the clear pink tumbler & the mug too!
Glad to hear that you managed to find it finally! That's the Starbucks that I go to most frequently. :-)
i still see a couple of pink tumblers and mugs around, caved in and bought my mug today. its' too bad the mug doesn't come with a free drink as well
ladies, pelase be careful when opening the flip-top lid of the blue tumbler, my thumb nail broke so i'm now really careful when opening it, hopefully it will loosen after some time
There's also two other tiger print tumblers for Chinese New Year. One's a dark brown with the character for "tiger" and a tiger's tail on it. The other is orange with a print of lanterns, including a little tiny tiger lantern.
Hi! Im from Philippines. Is there any way I can purchase this cherry bloosom tumbler from SG?? I really love it so much and we don't have it here.
hi rica,
I'm afraid the cherry blossom tumblers sold out quite some time ago in Singapore and are no longer available.
wow singapore has nice tumblers!! it's much better than my country's one xDD
hello hello =)
may i know how can i get them on malaysia?
H Amanda,
I don't know if these were available in Malaysia. In Singapore, they have sold out already as they were a limited edition release. They are usually released in March in Japan and Singapore.
