Shiseido hosted a session for beauty bloggers at its "Fight Against Time" booth at Level 1 of Raffles City yesterday evening. Aside from receiving individual skin checks, the Shiseido trainer also taught us some anti-aging skincare techniques.
The presentation started by identifying the three factors that make one appear older than one actually is.
When applying moisturiser, you can do a simple uplifting massage to help improve blood circulation, reduce puffiness and prevent saggy skin.
To prevent sagging, the trainer also recommended these simple exercises to strengthen the facial muscles. Each of the poses are supposed to be held for ten seconds, while keeping your eyes open.
Taking just five minutes a day to do this routine helps to produce a significant improvements in the appearance and health of your skin.
At the booth, you can also try out Shiseido's new Bio-Performance Super Corrective Serum (S$133, 30ml) which helps to fight against wrinkles, sagging and dullness.
The Bio-Performance Super Corrective Serum is designed to be used before moisturiser. Shiseido offers several moisturisers, each designed to meet specific skin concerns. The Shiseido consultants will help you to select your "Perfect Pair".
The Bio-Performance Super Corrective Serum has a slightly thick texture and I needed two pumps for one application. After applying it, my skin looks smoother. It has the slightly slippery feel typical of products that contain silicone (dimethicone is the second ingredient listed). I was surprised that it did not cause my skin to become super oily, like some serums tend to do. One benefit of having oily skin is that I don't have visible wrinkles yet! Nevertheless, prevention is always better than cure so it's important to follow a regular skincare routine and ensure that your skin is properly cleansed and hydrated.
A whole host of activities have been lined up over the next week at the Fight Against Time booth, including workshops, complimentary consultations and skin checks. More details in the pic below. Do also check out Shiseido's Facebook page for information on upcoming events.
Here are the gifts with purchase available at the event.

I don't have a single photo of anyone! :P
You know, the screen shots were so funny - I scrolled down very quickly and it looked like your images were moving, haha!
Oh and thanks for the price of the Bio-Performance serum; have added it in my post. :)
hi, just recently found your blog and I just love it!! I am so late. Can Bio-Performance Super Corrective Serum bought online if one lives in the USA?
hi ava1986,
Yes, you can find it on Nordstrom.com
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/3084172?origin=category&resultback=2296
What's your personal take on this serum? Will you buy it?
It sounds wonderful.
hi,
I haven't used it long enough (just 2 days so far) to be able to form a definitive opinion about it. So far, it has kept my skin quite well hydrated. My skin gets flaky and peels if it is not well moisturised but since using the serum at night, my skin does not have any flakes or peeling when I wake up in the morning and that really helps when applying foundation. It has also not broken me out so far.
oh how stupid of me never thought of looking at nordstrom :/ thanks now I can get it.
Hi ava,
Glad to help! I read in a Japanese magazine Glow that the serum was launched in US and Europe some time ago and it has been doing very well. It has only just been launched in Japan and other Asian countries.
