Cosme Decorte AQ Shadow Supreme 021

I did a simple look with the Cosme Decorte AQ Shadow Supreme 021 palette today.

Like Lunasol palettes, each Shadow Supreme palette comes with two double-ended sponge/brush applicators. While some ladies prefer to use regular brushes, I usually use the included applicators as I find that they do a good job of applying and blending. The sponge applicators are particularly useful for achieving a more pigmented finish. The multi-faceted surface of the eyeshadows reminds me of the eyeshadow quads by the now defunct Esprique (predecessor of Esprique Precious), which was also part of the Kosé family.

After prepping with Testimo Eye Bright Up Base, I applied the white shade over the browbone area and at the inner corners, the yellow gold shade along the lower lashline, the blueish grey from the upper lashline to the crease and the dark blue shade along the upper lashline and outer corners. Then I finished by applying Canmake Gokunobi mascara and Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Liner.

All the eyeshadows have a satin finish except for the yellow gold shade which has a more metallic finish. The colour payoff is typical of Japanese brands. They apply sheer at first and can be layered easily for greater intensity. The texture is quite soft and can throw up a fair bit of loose powder bits if your brush/applicator touches the surface with too much force. Nevertheless, the shades are very easy to blend and complement one another very nicely. The shades have no frostiness or chunky glitter, so they can easily be worn for the daytime and office.

At S$89 each, the Cosme Decorte AQ Shadow Supreme palettes are a pricey indulgence. The good quality is reflected in the refined textures, the elegant gold-themed packaging and skin beneficial ingredients.

For the rest of the look, I used Cosme Decorte AQ Cream Foundation Supreme 201 over Makeup Base 01 (Moist), Face Powder N 001 and Rouge Supreme BE355, NARS Sin Blush (2nd from top of left hand column in the palette), Paul & Joe Stick Concealer 01 and K-Palette Real Lasting Eyebrow 24h 01.

For those interested in the Cosme Decorte AQ Cream Foundation, here's the ingredients list.

And for the loose powder.

Aww man, just when I'd set my heart on purchasing the foundation, I noticed that Mineral Oil's amongst the ingredients. :( This brand seems too pricey to have to resort to mineral oil as a filler...

Thanks for showing the ingredients list and saving me a lot of grief (and money), Iris! :D

Hi, I'm thankful for the foundation ingredient list u have shared too:) Alcohol is 3rd on the list. Omg my skin has low tolerence for alcohol. It seems japanese makeup & skincare quite often has alcohol at the top of their ingredient list:(

I like this look u did. Subtle & nice... great for everyday look for work.

Could you also post the ingredient list for the makeup base? thanks!

hi,
I'm afraid I don't have he ingredients list for the makeup base and the eyeshadow palette. The makeup base is a deluxe sample tube so there was no box.

Hi Haru
thanks for sharing the ingredient list :)

have you encountered any base makeup that reacts poorly with your skin e.g. irritation, evil pimples?
For me, Chanel mat is not so kind on my combi skin, it gives a pimple or 2. i think maybe it's drying on my cheek area where it's drying.

Hi Haru
sorry to chip in a non related question in this post. would like to get your advice on one makeup taboo. how do you cope with flakiness around nose/tzone? you know sometimes after we set our makeup, during mid day when we look into mirror, the makeup around nose area, at the side tend to flake and become "messy" you know what i mean while the rest of the face makeup stay intact and neat. what can we do to solve this? and i tried use blotting paper, even more flakiness much least to say touch up , even lagi worst haha thanks thanks!

Hi Ling,
If there is flakiness (as in you can see flakes of skin), then chances are that the area is lacking moisture. Perhaps you can try ensuring that the area is sufficiently moisturised before you apply makeup.

If you mean the makeup around your nose area creasing after a few hours (this can happen especially with the smile lines), perhaps try a primer to help the makeup last longer? When I'm touching up my makeup, I usually use a slightly damp piece of tissue to smoothen out the area where the foundation has streaked or gotten patchy/cakey. After that, I touch up by dusting on some pressed face powder.

As for base makeup that reacts poorly with my skin, I have not come across any examples recently. Usually, I try to avoid products that are too drying or too heavy/emollient as my skintype is oily but can get flakey if the product is too mattifying.

Hi Haru

Thanks for your tips. Yes, i agree with you that when we seek mattifying product to curb oil around tzone, it gets drier. true, when i used etude dr oil to solve tzone oil (also part of combat plan to prevent acne esp around nose area), tzone gets even more flakey and dry. so last night, i tried clinique dramatic gel and it works even better :) hope my sharing here helps too .

Cosme Decorte AQ palettes are so beautiful, do you know where I can buy them online that will post internationally?

Hi,
Facial Shop carries a very limited selection of Cosme Decorte products. Perhaps you can try asking http://apopofkawaii.com/ which is based in Japan if they can do a custom purchase for you.
