MAC Venomous Villains Launch at Tangs

The MAC Venomous Villains collection was launched today exclusively at Tangs!

There wasn't much chatter about this collection within the online community in Singapore so I didn't think this would spark a mad rush like Marine Life from the To the Beach collection back in June. Boy was I wrong! Apparently, a queue formed even before Tangs Orchard opened. When the store opened, there was quite a bit of a frenzy as the customers were all armed with their shopping lists. When Mag, Kas and I were there at noon, there was still a steady stream of customers.

The collection is massive with a good diversity of shades. The quickest items to sell out were the Bite of an Apple blush, the three nailpolishes and two Mineralize Eyeshadows. After swatching Bite of an Apple, I didn't understand why it was so sought after as the texture feels very dry and the shade is not that unique.

From 1-3 October, you can also get your photo taken as Cruella de Vil. Over at the Tangs Vivocity counter, the Evil Queen dressup and photo op will be available from 8-10 October.

Love all the different expressions of the dalmatians!

Kas and I with Joey from MAC.

I was quite taken with several of the shades in this collection so I ended up making my biggest ever single purchase from MAC in recent years. Luckily, Tangs was giving away a S$25 voucher with a S$250 beauty purchase. The voucher cannot be used on brands under Estee Lauder such as MAC and Clinique. The voucher promotion is while stocks last only.

Thanks to Mag, who got there a bit earlier, I was able to snag all three Nail Lacquers in Bad Fairy, Mean & Green, and Formidable (S$19 each). The molten metallic shades have a gorgeous duochrome finish, similar to the Orly Cosmic FX collection.

Also at the top of my list were the two Mineralize Eyeshadows. Below is She Who Dares (S$35).

My Dark Magic

Briar Rose Beauty Powder (S$46)

From left to right: Wicked Ways, Wrong Spell and Hot House

Dark Deed (S$30) Amplified Lipstick

The Venomous Villains collection will be launched at the other MAC counters in Singapore on 7 October so if you weren't able to get some of the items at Tangs, you can always try next week at Isetan, Sephora or the MAC Pro store.

Nope, we just took photos in front of the display :-)

The three nail polishes and two Mineralized Eyeshadows are sold out at the Tangs Orchard counter. I don't know about the stock situation at Tangs Vivocity. The other counter launching the collection next week will have these nailpolishes and eyeshadows so you can try to get them then.

I've seen photographs of the nail polishes and thought they were only so-so. But the chromes showed up gorgeous from your camera!

Is Magically Cooling Powder available? Heard so much about it but no local blogger made any mention.

I shared your link at my FB page, if you don't mine :)

hi,
Both the Magically Cooling Powders were available when I was at the counter at noon but I don't know if they are still in stock. I tested the light beige one and didn't really find it that special. The cooling feeling was quite minimal and fleeting. The finish is a tad luminous.

I didn't expect so many of the things to be sold out, too!

I went to Tangs Vivo during lunch and I only got 2 out of the 5 things that I wanted (Bad Fairy nail polish, Strange Potion lipglass and Bite of an Apple were ALL GONE!). :(

So just ended up with Wicked Ways lipglass and She Who Dares eyeshadow.

may i know where is the mac pro store in singapore? does it carries the full mac pro range?

hi,
The MAC Pro store is in Ngee Ann City Level B1. It has products like the eyeshadow/blush palettes, eyeshadows and blushes in the refill form but I don't think they carry some Pro products like paintsticks and chroma cakes. Our MAC Pro is more like the freestanding MAC stores in the US.

Hi Lynn,
You can see swatches on Temptalia!

Nice and lucky haul! I have the two mineralize eyeshadows. I like your My Dark Magic better than mine. Yours looks nicer. Mine isn't quite split in half and the dark color is just a big black splotch. However, so far I think that I like My Dark Magic better than She Who Dares.

I wanted to get the nail polishes too but they were already sold out so I'm on a cancellation wait list.

The display is so nice! I wish the stores here were like that. You should totally use the Briar Rose, it's really pretty. A bit off topic, but a while back you did an EOTD on Maybelline The Falsies and I noticed your lashes weren't droopy, so I was wondering how The Falsies is at holding a curl? And what you think of it in general?

hi,
I reviewed Maybelline The Falsies some time back. You can read the review here:

I can't remember how well it held the curl. The main problem with it was the clumping.

Hi Iris, may i know what is the difference between mac pro stores and freestanding mac stores? how are they different from one another?

second question: just curious-what is that, the look-a-like postcard that has different characters on each piece?

Haru said...

hi,
The cards are just promotional cards for the four collections in Venomous Villains. MAC usually puts out these postcards for various postcards.

The MAC freestanding stores carry a smaller range of products than the MAC Pro stores. MAC Pro stores have products like chroma cakes which are not available in MAC freestanding stores.

That's quite a haul you got there.

I am planning to get the 2 Mineralize eyeshadows.
