ALT @ Heeren Clearance Sale

Just learnt today that ALT at Heeren will be closing. It's a great pity but also not surprising as the store is usually very empty even on weekends, despite the fact that it has an extremely well-stocked beauty emporium on level 3 with an excellent selection of Western, Japanese, Taiwanese and organic brands. The last day of business is supposed to be 15 February, although the cashier said that this may be extended. The store is currently having a clearance sale with 20%-30% off many beauty brands and up to 50% off fashion and accessories.

On the ground floor, Paul & Joe is having a 10% discount while Thai makeup brand Panadda and I Nuovi are offering 20% off. There was no discount advertised for Ettusais, Pupa and MUFE.

Some fragrance brands like Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham and Hello Kitty were at 20% off.

Some of the beauty brands on sale on the third floor. There's no discount for OPI. Principessa is at 40% off.

I came home with a Principessa Bellaza Box Beauty Tooks Kit (originally at S$80) that includes deluxe sample sizes of the Cattiva Diva Silky Hand Cream, Dolce Dreams Whipped Body Lotion, Bagno Bliss Spa Cream Bath, Fresh Fiore Creamy Body Wash, Candelina Soy Travel Candle, Bacio Me Lip Balm and a bath lily.

Also picked up the Elisha Coy Herb Clay Pore Refining Mask (U.P. S$42) and Milk Cacao Black Sugar Scrub (U.P. S$40). The Herb Clay mask has a lovely rose scent while the Milk Cacao scrub has a sweet chocolate scent. These were 20% off.

Finally, I also got this geranium-scented Dead Sea Salt Soap (U.P. $12.90) which comes with a net to help lather it up. There was also a 20% discount on this.

If you haven't visited ALT before, now's a good time to do so before it closes for good.

Sightings at ALT @ Heeren

Took a stroll around ALT at Heeren yesterday and to my surprise, the OPI Katy Perry collection was already on display. According to Icefrost's blog, the collection is also out at Robinsons Raffles City but several shades including Black Shatter are already out of stock. The nail polishes retail for S$23.50 each. Black Shatter is also out of stock at ALT but the other shades are available.

I applied a quick coat of Black Shatter over my MAC Bad Fairy nail polish and was impressed by how quickly the shatter effect showed up. It's better to layer on the liquid thickly so that the shatter bits are more chunky, like on the left half of my nail.

The number of beauty brands available at ALT is simply dazzling and feels too overwhelming to absorb. This line of mascaras and liquid eyeliner looked quite interesting, shall consider purchasing it after I've used up my current eyeliner.

Another Japanese skincare brand centred around hyaluronic acid.

A cooling makeup base.

Anti-knee aging scrub cream, anyone?

Geranium Massage Salt Body Soap

Some of the brands are currently on 20% discount.

ALT also carries an interesting array of Sanrio goods, stationery and clothes. On the ground floor, you can also find Pupa, Paul & Joe, Lotree, Make Up For Ever, I Nuovi, Ettusais etc. The Pupa counter has an interesting array of makeup kits including the Kokeshi dolls, Butterfly World palettes and Puposka collection.

ALT @ Heeren

I went to explore the new ALT store at the Heeren today with Kas of Shine, Shimmer & Sparkle. Spread out over three floors in the space formerly occupied by HMV, ALT felt like it was modelled after the Loft in Japan. The store is very brightly lit, airy and neatly organised. There were hardly any customers, which was a bit sad because the store is really a beauty addict's playground.

The ground floor has a section for bags and a beauty section with Paul & Joe, Pupa, I Nuovi, Ettusais, Lotree, fresh Minerals, the Makeup Store, Ossion, Kanava and Panadda. Panadda is a makeup brand from Thailand. I quite liked some of the blushes (S$25.90), which felt very silky with good colour payoff and a lovely shimmer.

The Pupa counter is massive and much more impressive than the displays at Sasa and BHG Bugis.

Ossion is a Korean skincare brand. It is displayed next to Kanava nailpolishes, but I don't know if the two brands are related.

The second floor is ladies' clothing. The third floor is the highlight of the store for me as it contains literally what must be over 100 brands including L'Oreal, Bourjois, Canmake, Kate, Shills, Principessa, Kiehls and many more that I'm not familiar with. For everything from haircare, skincare, bodycare, nails and makeup, you are just spoilt for choice here with the selection of brands available. Many of the brands here can also be found at Sasa, Watsons or Sephora but I liked the refined and quiet atmosphere of ALT where you are left to browse in peace to your heart's content.

Shills face powder and concealer stick.

The Principessa display.

False eyelashes display.

BB Creams galore.

Spotted some EcoTools skincare kits that I haven't seen at Watsons.

For nail addicts, there is a very well-stocked OPI section, including the latest Shrek Forever After and Summer Flutter collections. The Summer Flutter is also available in the set of 4 minis for S$35. The full size OPIs cost S$23.50.

The Orly display.

The third floor also carries snacks, household items and toys, like a rubber chicken that lets out the most hilarious (and LOUD) whining squeal when squeezed.

Do check out ALT if you get the chance!
