Shiseido Synchro Skin White Cushion Compact

Shiseido will launch its new Synchro Skin White Cushion Compact foundation on 1 June in Japan. Available in a paltry selection of just 4 shades (Ochre 10/20/30 and Pink Ochre 20), the refill will retail at 4300yen while the case is 1200yen. It has a semi-matte finish and is supposed to provide skin with a brighter, more translucent finish. Compared to last year's Synchro Skin Glow Cushion Compact which has only SPF23 PA++, Synchro Skin White has a higher sun protection rating of SPF40 PA+++ with ingredients such as 'brightening pigment R', pure white powder, 'time match powder' and oil-absorbing powder.

Shiseido Fall 2017 Modern Art Calligraphy

Shiseido will launch its Modern Art Calligraphy collection for Fall 2017 featuring a washi-inspired (Japanese paper) Ink Strike Eyeliner (6 shades, 3500yen), Ink Stroke Eyeliner Brush (3500yen) and Paper Light Cream Eye Color (8 shades, 3000yen) on 1 July in Japan. The brush has a unique 30° incline for ease of application while the gel-type eyeliners, which come with a brush, are supposed to have ink-rich intensity that lasts up to 8 hours. The collection will also introduce 8 new shades of Rouge Rouge lipstick (3000yen).

Shiseido will launch its new Rouge Rouge line of 16 lipsticks (3600yen) on 1 July in Japan.

Shiseido White Lucent Skincare Renewal

Shiseido will launch its revamped White Lucent skincare range on 1 February in Japan. It includes:

1. Luminizing Infuser (5940yen, 150ml)

2. Luminizing Surge (7020yen, 75ml)

3. Micro Brightening Spots Corrector (11880yen for 30ml; 15120yen for LE 50ml size)

4. Multi Bright Night Cream (11880yen, 50g)

Shiseido Y's Palette for Holiday 2015

Shiseido is collaborating with fashion label Y's (by Yohji Yamamoto) for its holiday 2015 makeup palette which will be launched on 1 November in Japan and internationally. Retailing at 7200yen for 12g, it contains six shades for the eyes and face created by Dick Page who took inspiration from the camellia flower. According to this site, it looks like there is an accompanying set of brushes.

Shu Uemura Ultime 8 Sublime Beauty Oil In Essence and Shiseido Future Solution Replenishing Treatment Oil

1 October sees the release of Shu Uemura Ultime 8 Sublime Beauty Oil In Essence in Japan as well as Shiseido Future Solution LX Replenishing Treatment Oil. The Shiseido oil is already available on the USA website where it retails for US$175 for 75ml. The yuzu-scented oil contains evening primrose, safflower, jojoba, macadamia and argan oils. Shiseido x Lady Gaga

Shiseido just unveiled their new commercial featuring Lady Gaga. Shot by Ellen von Unwerth in New York including at Lady Gaga's own apartment, it's a bit of an odd one as it doesn't push any new product. Instead, Lady Gaga exhorts women to be themselves as that's what makes them beautiful. This is part of Shiseido's ongoing collaboration with the star. Earlier in February, Lady Gaga appeared in 50 selfies in Japanese publications for Shiseido. The choice of Lady Gaga is a bizarre one for Shiseido, although it virtually guarantees massive press coverage. And yet, one does not see the star in any ad visuals at Shiseido counters.

Shiseido Fall 2015

Shiseido will launch its Fall 2015 makeup collection on 1 August in Japan. It includes:

1. Full Lash Volume Mascara: 2 shades BK901 and BR602. Smudgeproof volumising formula that can be easily removed with warm water. (3800yen, 8g)

2. Shimmering Cream Eye Color: 5 shades BE728, BR329, VI730, BR731 and GR732 (3000yen)

3. Full Lash Serum (4750yen, 6ml)

4. Perfect Rouge: 4 new shades PK354, RD555, RS656 and BR757 (3500yen)

5. Veil Rouge: 4 new shades OR313, PK314, RD315 and RD316 (3200yen)

Shiseido Haku Melanocool White Solid

Shiseido's HAKU celebrates its 10th anniversary this year with the launch of Melanocool White Solid on 1 March in Japan. This is an emollient solid cream that is meant to be stored in the refrigerator (not in the freezer) and melts like butter on the skin, keeping it thoroughly hydrated. Simply use the included spatula to scrape two pearl sizes for one application. It is formulated with Shiseido's patented 4MSK complex (4-methoxysalicylicate) to suppress the formation of melanin, extracts of ginseng, green tea and Angelica acutiloba, plus hyaluronic acid and glycerin. The regular size retails at 10,000yen for 45g while the 10g trial size is 2300yen. HAKU has reigned as the number one whitening beauty serum in Japan for the past 9 years with more than 17million units sold.

Shiseido Tsubaki Brand Renewal

Shiseido is renewing its bestselling Tsubaki haircare range in late March in Japan, with the introduction of the Extra Moist, Damage Care and Volume Touch series focusing on improving the moisture level and texture of hair. The new stripped down packaging unfortunately looks distinctly cheaper and less classy than the current line-up.

Shiseido Sale Haul

At today's media and VIP preview of the Shiseido private sale, there were extensive offerings from NARS, Ettusais, Cle de Peau, Benefiance, The Skincare, Ibuki, White Lucent and Maquillage. NARS had a wide selection of eyeshadow duos, Multiples, lipglosses, blushes, the Guy Bourdin collection (Holiday 2013), a couple of 6-eyeshadow palettes and blush palettes. NARS' black rubber packaging eventually disintegrates into a sticky disaster in Singapore's humid climate so their makeup was an easy pass for me.

Pretty much the entire NARS skincare range was on offer as well.

Lots of foundation choices from Maquillage and Shiseido. Cle de Peau had their cream foundation ($75), silky cream foundation ($65), a watery liquid foundation in a pump bottle ($65), a compact cream foundation and a powder foundation. Their discontinued eyeshadow quads were going at $35 each while the Holiday 2013 Wintry Flower kit was $100.

Since I'm literally drowning in makeup, I purchased mostly skincare to gift to my mother, mother-in-law and aunt. The little one was just waiting to pounce on all the boxes.

The Shiseido private sale will take place this Thursday and Friday from 10am to 8pm at the Shiseido office in Orchard Building. It is always massively popular due to the great bargains from an excellent range of brands including NARS, Cle de Peau, Ettusais, Maquillage, Majolica Majorca etc. Definitely not to be missed!

Shiseido Holiday 2014 Sparkling Party Palette

Shiseido will release this Sparkling Party Palette (5500yen) on 1 November in Japan. It includes an eye color base, cream eyeliner, blush, brown and gold eyeshadows, and a red lip and cheek colour.

Shiseido Fall 2014

Shiseido will release three limited edition Luminizing Satin Eye Color Trios (4000yen) on 1 August in Japan. These are OR316, GR716 and BL215.

There will also be four Face Color Enhancing Trios (4200yen, 7g) in PK1 Plum, RD1 Apple, OR1 Peach and RS1 Lychee, and five Lacquer Rouge in PK226, RS727, RD728, RD529 and PK430.
