Addiction Lip Protector + Essence
Addiction will launch a new Lip Protector + Essence SPF18 (1800yen, 10g) on 6 March. The light textured, geranium rose-scented balm can be used as lip primer and contains juniper berry oil. There will also be a limited edition jumbo size version of the Skin Protector SPF50 PA++++ (5000yen, 50g).

Pixi H2O Skintint, Bronzebeam Endless Silky Eye Pen and Shea Butter Lip Balm
During BeautyBay's recent 15% off sale, I purchased the new Pixi H2O Skintint (£21, 35ml), Endless Silky Eye Pen in BronzeBeam (£11) and Shea Butter Lip Balm (£8) in Ripe Raspberry from the Spring 2014 collection.
The H2O Skintint is a water-based tinted face gel that is supposed to be hydrating, long-lasting and water-resistant with a semi-matte finish that lasts all day. Aside from being paraben-free and fragrance-free, it contains antioxidant-rich green tea, moisturising rose water, soothing english chamomile and relaxing lavender. I was surprised to see that it is made in Korea.
The lightest shade No. 1 Cream was a good match for my MAC NC20 skintone. The pump dispenser is easy to control and the plastic tube packaging makes this convenient for travel as there is no fear of breakage. The texture is a very light cream that feels cool upon application. I had rather mixed results with this as depending on the skincare that I used prior to applying it, there were variances in the finish. When I used Paula's Choice Anti-Redness Exfoliating Solution, the H20 Skintint applied patchily with a tendency to pool in my pores and dry patches also appeared on my cheeks. It applied much more smoothly when I prepped my skin with Shiseido Ibuki Refining Moisturiser instead.
Being a tinted moisturiser, I did not expect this to offer much coverage. Indeed, the level of coverage is pretty light and does not cover blemishes well although it does even out some of the redness in my skin. It also takes quite a bit of blending to achieve a smooth, streak-less finish. Although titanium dioxide is listed as the third ingredient, there is no SPF level stated on the packaging which is disappointing as it means you can't rely on this alone for sun protection. Overall, I was a bit disappointed with the H20 Skintint as I was hoping that it could be a fuss-free all-in-one product for those days when I do not have time for applying foundation.

The Shea Butter Lip Balm has a nice creamy texture. It does not feel as balmy as Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatments but it does keep my lips hydrated without any peeling thereafter. Ripe Raspberry is a sweet pink that shows up nicely with just a couple of swipes.
Being a longtime fan of Pixi's Endless Silky Eye Pens, I always pick up any new shade that they release. Bronze Beam (center in the pic below) is a medium brown with a bit of a glimmer. It's not as muddily flat as Black Cocoa (left) and lighter and cooler than Copper Glow (right) which is more chocolate. I find Bronze Beam a bit too light for the upper lashline but it's nice for adding some depth along the lower lashline.

Jill Stuart Relax Melty Lip Balm and Relax Perfumed Dress Glimmer
Jill Stuart will release a new Relax Melty Lip Balm (1575yen) and Relax Perfumed Dress Glimmer (3140yen, 25g) on 7 February in Japan. The lip balm contains honey and starfruit extract. It will be available in three shades, including a limited edition coral orange. The limited edition Relax Perfumed Dress Glimmer is a tuberose and rose-scented pearl-infused balm for adding glimmer to the decolletage and legs, and is as emollient as an oil.

Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment in Cherry - Swatches
Fresh Tinted Lip Treatment is one of my favourite lip balms as they hydrate the lips without feeling sticky and add a flattering tint of color at the same time. I purchased the newest shade Cherry off Ebay recently.
Cherry is a well-pigmented cheerful red with the signature light lemony blackcurrant scent of the Tinted Lip Treatments. It lays down a bright pop of color on the lips from the very first pass, so I usually just wear this alone. It is rather expensive for a lip balm at US$22.50 but the quality and sleek metal packaging are well worth the price tag.
This glides onto the lips with a comforting balmy texture that is not oily or sticky. It does transfer at the slightest touch though so you may need to reapply after a meal or drink. It last well through about 3-4 hours and does not stain the lips. However, these do have a tendency to go soft or even break off in the tube if the weather gets too hot so do be careful to store them in a cool area.
My collection of the Fresh lip treatments is missing only Petal which looked too pale for my liking.

Compared with the other shades, Cherry is the closest to Coral, which appears to have been discontinued as it is no longer listed on Sephora.com and does not feature in the new slew of Fresh holiday lip sets. Cherry is just a smidge more red than Coral, but if you already have Coral, you can probably skip Cherry for now.
If you are interested in Cherry, Sephora Singapore will be stocking the holiday lip sets which are good for trying out the different shades in mini sizes.

Jill Stuart Yummy Perfumed Lip Balm & Lip Scrub
Hop on over to Abe Sawako's blog and Tomoichi's Twitter for a super early sneak peek at the Jill Stuart Yummy Perfumed Lip Balm and Lip Scrub that will be released in Japan on 1 February. Retailing at 2100yen each, both the limited edition balm and scrub will be available in four flavours: Caramel Brown Sugar, Candy Mint, Juicy Strawberry and Fresh Apricot. They contain strawberry juice, apricot oil, peppermint and brown sugar extract. The lip balm is also formulated with three types of honey.

Ettusais Lip Essence (Honey)
Ettusais will release a limited edition version Lip Essence (Honey) and Lip Essence (Honey Stick) on 18 October in Japan. The liquid balm version will retail for 1260yen for 10g, while the stick version will be 1050yen for 3g. Both contain SPF18 PA++ and are infused with royal jelly, honey, hyaluronic acid and beeswax. They have a light honey scent and give the lips a sheer honey tint. See a swatch on Bea's Up.
While in Japan, I picked up a few limited edition designs that were exclusive to It's Demo and Plaza Style. The red version is limited edition for this summer. These made excellent gifts!

Ettusais July Releases
Ettusais will release a new Foamy Rich Mousse (180g; 1365yen) and a red-tinted Lip Essence a (Color) SPF18 PA++ (10g; 1260yen) on 19 July in Japan. Formulated with hyaluronic acid, collagen and glycerin, the Foamy Rich Mousse packs five functions into one: makeup remover, face cleanser, foam massage, foam pack and moisturiser. Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter 075 Lollipop
A few weeks ago, I picked up Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter 075 Lollipop at Monoprix in France. It launched awhile ago in Singapore and has just arrived in the UK as well.
There are only 14 shades available in France, versus a grand total of twenty in the US. The price is much higher in France at around €15.90, versus S$15.90 in Singapore, £8 in the UK and about US$6 in the US.
The quilted design on the translucent cap is a nice touch. The matching colour of the cap to the lip butter shade also makes it easy to pick out the shade you want if you own a few of these.
The clear window on the end is also helpful for see the actual shade and checking that the lip butter is still in pristine condition before purchasing it. At Monoprix, I came across one that had a gash across the top despite still bearing the factory sticker seal.
True to the name, it glides on to the lips with a superbly smooth consistency. The comfortable emollient texture reminded me of Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment. I was also impressed by the almost opaque color payoff of Lollipop, which is a juicy fuchsia pink that brightens up the complexion.
On my lips, it wears well for about three hours. Although it feels comfortable on the lips and does not accentuate dry patches, I did not find it to be super hydrating as my lips still felt slightly dry after blotting it off.
There are hundreds of reviews of Revlon Lip Butters across the beauty blogs. Some utterly adore them while others aren't too impressed by them. Personally, I think it is pretty good for the price that you pay and definitely one of the better lipsticks by a drugstore brand that I've tried to date. I think prestige brands like Shiseido still win out in terms of quality but the Revlon Lip Butters are a good budget buy to play around with.
