Elle Hong Kong & Sentimental Circus

Dropped by Kinokuniya earlier today to pick up the January issue of Elle Hong Kong (S$12.84) as it comes with an unusual freebie - a pair of knitted arm warmers!

The arm warmers are available in grey and black. When I was at the Ngee Ann City store around 3pm, there was only one copy with the black warmers left and about 3 copies with the grey warmers.

There is no brand on these, but I thought they would come in useful not only during winter holidays but also in my office which can get quite chilly.

The hole in the side for the thumb.

These do feel quite warm and comfy, plus they cover all the way to my elbow while leaving my fingers free to type.

Over at the stationery section, I came across this new character range called "Sentimental Circus" by San-x. I've never seen this character before so it could be a one-off collection.

The reverse side of the plastic folder.

Love the whimsical illustrations!

The spiral notebook is available in two designs.

The mini memo pads each contain two designs.

Got the eraser as well!

Christmas Shopping at Kinokuniya

This year, I did most of my Christmas shopping at Kinokuniya. For my young cousins, I bought the Skating School novels by Linda Chapman. For my two male cousins (one is about to get married and the other finally got a girlfriend), I got them John Gray's bestselling Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus, and Mars & Venus Together Forever. Figured it can't hurt them to get an insight into how to communicate better with women!

I also picked up this funky Cool Robot chocolate/ice tray. This should be pretty fun to try out!

Kinokuniya also has an adorable range of Kutsushita Nyanko stationery. I'm not a cat person but still, I found this letter set and notepad too cute to resist!

The notepad comes with a sheet of stickers. I always can't bear to use these!

The letter set includes 40 sheets of letter paper and 20 envelopes in 4 designs.

Aside from these purchases at Kino, I also purchased Glee and Pink CDs, the hilarious Despicable Me movie DVD and Topshop makeup as gifts for my extended family. Hope you've completed your Christmas shopping smoothly as well!

Kinokuniya is giving away Stila lipglazes and eyeshadows with the new issue of Beautymap starting this Thursday! Do check out this blog for more details. The quantities are extremely limited so do go early if you are keen on the gifts.

Also, Sephora is holding a beauty bazaar again at Suntec City Rm 301-302 (Level 3) on 4-6 November. The hours are 12-8pm on the first day and 11am-8pm on the last two days. Another company is holding a cosmetics sale at Suntec Room 202 from 5-7 November with brands such as Urban Decay, Stila, Benefit, Too Faced and YSL. Please don't ask me about what products will be available and the prices as I have no further information and I will not be going for the sales.

Cosmopolitan Hong Kong x Anna Sui

The November issue of Cosmopolitan (Hong Kong) comes with an Anna Sui clear plastic pouch and polyester drawstring pouch. The magazine is retailing at S$13.91 and just arrived at Kinokuniya today. There were about 10 copies when I was at the Ngee Ann City store this morning.

It's quite a whopper of an issue that comes with a separate 312-page Beauty & Health supplement and a 40-page Anti-aging War supplement.

The plastic pouch is quite well made with Anna Sui's signature butterfly and rose icons.

The drawstring pouch material feels thin but it can hold a number of small makeup items.

I like transparent pouches as you can see the products inside clearly without having to waste time rummaging through the pouch.

The Beauty & Health supplement comes with Suisse Programme Recovery Eye Gel Cream (2ml) and a Methode Swiss Thermal Oxygen Soothing Concentrate (2ml).

Earlier at Kino this week, I was also pleasantly surprised when a Kino staff approached me while I was flipping through a magazine and asked if I was Haru and then she passed me the Lux haircare samples that were missing from my earlier copy of With magazine. Many thanks to Kino for the excellent customer service!
