Lunasol Valentine's Day Collection 2017

Lancome Spring 2017 and Blanc Expert Collection

Lancome will release its Spring Rose collection on 2 January in Japan and 1 January in Singapore. The stunning star piece from this collection is the La Rose à Poudre face powder (8500yen) with delicate pearl shimmer (watch a video of it here). There will also be three limited edition shades of Juicy Shaker gloss (3000yen), a Palette La Rose (8000yen), Parisian Lips Le Stylo (4200yen, 4 lip duos), Ombre Hynose Stylo (4 LE shades, 3800yen) and Grandiose Liner (2 LE shades, 4200yen). When Lisa Eldridge signed on as Lancome's new creative director, many had high hopes that she would rejuvenate the brand's makeup offerings. However, the collections that she has created over the past year have been sadly underwhelming with the Audacity palettes garnering rather bad reviews. The Juicy Shaker gloss also came off as more gimmicky than innovative. Hopefully this collection is a portent of more promising things to come. Pics below from Voce.



Lancome will introduce its third generation cushion foundation Blanc Expert Cushion Compact H SPF50+ PA+++ (5200yen for refill, 1300yen for case, 1000yen for puff) on 17 February in Japan. Formulated with essential oil for a glowy finish, the foundation applies with a non-sticky texture. Pic from Maquia.

Cle de Peau Spring 2017 and Teint Stick Eclat

The Cle de PeauSpring 2017 collection Serene Beauty will be released on 21 January in Japan. It includes:

1. Ombre Couleur Duo: 6 duos (4500yen)

2. Blush Creme: 4 shades (4500yen, 6g)

3. Rouge Eclat C: 3 shades (3500yen)

4. Vernis Ongles (4 LE shades, 2000yen)






This will be followed by a new Teint Stick Eclat foundation (8640yen, 9g, 4 shades) on 21 March. It utilises a 'water C technology' through which micro water particles are finely balanced with oil particles that meld upon contact with skin. The foundation glides on with a soft refreshing feel.

Maquillage Spring 2017

21 January

1. Cheek Color (Clear) in RD444 and P222 (Limited edition set with case 2500yen; refill 1800yen for 4g): Formulated with a creamy gloss, stretch net gel, creamy fit oil and super hyaluronic acid for up to 8 hours' wear.


2. Dramatic Powdery UV Foundation Limited Edition Set (3000yen): Available in foundation shades OC10 and OC20. Includes Dramatic Skin Sensor Base UV 4ml, Dramatic Powder UV 9.2g and a foundation sponge.


21 February in Japan

Dior DiorSnow Collection 2017

Dior will release its DiorSnow makeup and whitening skincare collection for 2017 on 17 February in Japan. It includes a limited edition Cinq Couleurs #637 Petal palette (7600yen) and Snow Blush & Bloom Powder (7600yen). Pics below from Fashion Press.

Kate Spring 2017

Kate is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2017 with another renewal of its base and colour makeup lines. Kate has reigned as the number one brand in the self-help segment of Japanese drugstores for 14 years running. Kate also intends to strengthen its presence in overseas markets, namely the ASEAN countries, by developing products for these markets with the target of having overseas sales account for 40% of total revenue. The colour makeup line will be released on 1 February. It includes:

Suqqu Spring 2017

Suqqu is another brand looking to bust wallets with its whopper of a Spring 2017 collection debuting on 20 January in Japan. The collection is inspired by Japanese flowers and features a new line of Designing Color Eyes palettes. Pics below by UrCosme Facebook.




Pure Color Blush (2 permanent and 1 LE). The peach and orange-toned #101 Kasaneyamabuki 重山吹 (extreme left in the pic below) is the limited edition shade. In the middle is #7 Tsuyasatsuki 艶皐月 and on the right is #6 Harusumire 春菫).


Designing Color Eyes (6800yen, 5 permanent and 1 LE). The net weight of the eyeshadows is 5.6g, up from the 4.2g of the current Blend Color Eyeshadow quads.

Jill Stuart Spring 2017

Just as I'm falling out of love with Paul & Joe, Jill Stuart is getting more of my attention these days. The princessy, blinged out faux crystal aesthetic of the brand hasn't changed but it has become more experimental with shades, often packing in more tones into each product for a more visually arresting presentation. The upcoming Spring 2017 collection Sweets Couture is centered around pastels, which would normally be a snoozefest for me but this one actually looks pretty interesting and appealing. All the products are limited edition so don't miss its launch on 17 January in Japan.
