Last week, I picked up the Sana Pore Putty BB Cream at Sasa as there was a 20% discount on Sana products. It looked promising with the high SPF50 PA+++ and collagen and silicone gel powder-infused formula which promised to conceal pores and uneven skin texture. It costs around S$19 for 30g after the 20% discount, which is just slightly cheaper than the normal retail price of 1260yen in Japan.
Like most BB creams, the Pore Putty BB Cream promises a multitude of functions: it acts as a primer, foundation, concealer, beauty essence and sunblock while also providing coverage of pores with its unique "3D-fit" formula. It comes in a convenient squeeze tube that makes it easy to control the amount of product dispensed.
It has a light cream texture that glides easily onto the skin. I applied it right after using my Lancome Tonique Eclat Clarifying Exfoliating Lotion, which has a rather astringent effect on my skin. Even without using a moisturiser to prep my skin, the Pore Putty BB Cream blends easily to a seamless, satin finish without any telltale streaks or balling.
The pic below shows the BB cream blended out.
Sadly, it did not magically vanquish my pores into oblivion, but it did help to minimise the appearance of the pores on my T-zone. The larger pores and scars on my cheeks were still visible. In terms of oil control, I needed to blot every two to three hours, which is normal for me.
Overall, the Pore Putty BB Cream was not a love for me as the cream texture felt slightly heavy on my skin and the shade made my skin look a tad yellow. I prefer my foundation/BB creams to have a weightless feel and greater brightening effect. As it contains cyclopentasiloxane, it has a slightly slippery feel typical of silicone-based products. Lotus Palace has also reviewed this BB cream.
For this look, I also used Addiction eyeshadows in Deep Forest, Blue Moon and Horizon over Too Faced Shadow Insurance, Addiction Lipgloss in Dear Liar, Ettusais Bitaba mascara, Stila Sparkle Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Electric, RMK Super Basic Concealer EX-01 and Za Ever Brows BR21.
The Too Faced Shadow Insurance worked much better with the Addiction eyeshadows than the TF Shadow Insurance in Candlelight. I applied Deep Forest along the upper lashline and outer half of the lower lashline, Blue Moon in the middle of the upper eyelid and along the lower lashline, and Horizon over the browbone area. Although I'm still not a fan of the silver glitter bits in Horizon, it does have a lovely gentle twinkling effect that catches the light beautifully.
