MAC Venomous Villains Launch at Tangs

The MAC Venomous Villains collection was launched today exclusively at Tangs!

There wasn't much chatter about this collection within the online community in Singapore so I didn't think this would spark a mad rush like Marine Life from the To the Beach collection back in June. Boy was I wrong! Apparently, a queue formed even before Tangs Orchard opened. When the store opened, there was quite a bit of a frenzy as the customers were all armed with their shopping lists. When Mag, Kas and I were there at noon, there was still a steady stream of customers.

The collection is massive with a good diversity of shades. The quickest items to sell out were the Bite of an Apple blush, the three nailpolishes and two Mineralize Eyeshadows. After swatching Bite of an Apple, I didn't understand why it was so sought after as the texture feels very dry and the shade is not that unique.

From 1-3 October, you can also get your photo taken as Cruella de Vil. Over at the Tangs Vivocity counter, the Evil Queen dressup and photo op will be available from 8-10 October.

Love all the different expressions of the dalmatians!

I was quite taken with several of the shades in this collection so I ended up making my biggest ever single purchase from MAC in recent years. Luckily, Tangs was giving away a S$25 voucher with a S$250 beauty purchase. The voucher cannot be used on brands under Estee Lauder such as MAC and Clinique. The voucher promotion is while stocks last only.

Thanks to Mag, who got there a bit earlier, I was able to snag all three Nail Lacquers in Bad Fairy, Mean & Green, and Formidable (S$19 each). The molten metallic shades have a gorgeous duochrome finish, similar to the Orly Cosmic FX collection.

Also at the top of my list were the two Mineralize Eyeshadows. Below is She Who Dares (S$35).

Dark Deed (S$30) Amplified Lipstick

The Venomous Villains collection will be launched at the other MAC counters in Singapore on 7 October so if you weren't able to get some of the items at Tangs, you can always try next week at Isetan, Sephora or the MAC Pro store.

Paul & Joe Disney Haul!

The Paul & Joe Disney collection has been selling swiftly since it launched in Singapore three days ago. The Flower face powder balls and Marie Milky Lip Treatment sold out ahead of the Bambi face powder balls and Protective Hand Cream at the Isetan Scotts counter. I read on Cozycot that the collection was launched at the counter in Takashimaya on Thursday.

Only 50 pieces of each product was brought in for each counter, with more stocks expected in February. Given how well the collection has been selling, I hope the company brings in much larger quantities in the next shipment. It has been a long time since Paul & Joe had such a fast-selling collection!

I picked up these items on Thursday: the Bambi balls (S$48), the hand cream (S$28), Pearl Powder #4 (S$30) and Lipgloss N #5 (S$34). The orange flower scented hand cream smells absolutely divine and refreshing. It also contains peach essence, jojoba oil and hyaluronic acid to protect hands. It has a light milky texture that absorbs quickly without any sticky residue. It is probably not heavy duty enough for the harsh winter months but it is perfect for Singapore's humid weather.

The interior of the Bambi box has the cutest little bird print!

The fluffy powder puff is a good size, more luxurious and thicker than the ones that came in the Majolica Majorca Majolumina. It does a good job of applying the powder although some ladies on Cozycot reported that the colour shows up better with the MAC #187 brush.

The balls are a good mix of small beige, medium peachy orange and large pink balls. When applied, it shows up as a soft peachy pink on my cheeks. At S$48, it is about S$11 more than the price on Asos.com (£17.75) but I guess after you factor in shipping costs and the risk that the balls will get broken in transit, it's probably better just to pay the extra S$11 to get them locally.

The Pearl Powder #4 (5g) is a metallic baby pink with silver micro sparkles that twinkle ever so merrily! I hope Paul & Joe will introduce more shades of this as they have a lovely silky texture.

For purchases over S$120, the counter is currently giving away this clutch bag (the alternative is a poppy print clutch wallet). The bag feel very stiff and heavy. It is covered in a satiny fabric with a velvet-lined interior. I don't have a bag like this so I was quite pleased with it. The counter is still giving away the poppy print luggage with purchases over S$200.

I also received the Eye Color #94, a velvety eggplant shade, as a GWP.

Paul & Joe Disney Collection

Just read on Cozycot that the Paul & Joe Disney collection will be launched this coming Tuesday in Singapore at long last! The prices are as follows:

1. Face Color Balls (2 shades) S$48
2. Milky Lip Treatment S$23
3. Protective Hand Cream S$28

I have ordered the Disney balls from Asos.com where they are only £17.75 (S$38.95) each but am still waiting for my sister-in-law to bring back from UK for me. Don't miss this collection as I'm sure it will sell very quickly, given how irresistibly adorable the Bambi print is.
