Est Fall 2011

Est will release its fall makeup collection on 6 August in Japan. It includes two Gradation Puff Cheeks (4725yen), two Advanced Lips glosses (3360yen) and two Emotional Multiple Eyes (5775yen). The lipglosses and eyeshadow palettes are limited edition.

Est Spring 2011

The Est website has been updated with the Spring 2011 makeup collection which will be released on 1 January in Japan.

The collection includes two Dual Emotion Eyes (5775yen), four Advanced Lips (3360yen) and two Nail Colours (2100yen). All the items are limited edition.

Est Fall 2010

Est has updated its website with the upcoming Fall 2010 makeup collection due out on 24 July in Japan. It includes four Dual Emotion Eyes palettes (5775yen), a Ripe Rich Lip Base (2835yen) and three limited edition shades of Emotional Aura Lips (3657yen).

The Dual Emotion Eyes contain eyeshadows in two textures, namely shiny (top half of the palettes) and silky (lower half), to help define and add dimension.

Est is a high-end department store brand under the Kao umbrella. The palettes are priced just a tad higher than those from Jill Stuart and Lunasol, but well worth the price as the textures and shade combinations are very elegant and well-designed.

Est Spring 2010

Est has just launched its spring collection in Japan. Est is the high-end prestige department store brand by Sofina, which also makes Aube Couture. Check out the official website here.

Est makes some of the most beautiful eyeshadow palettes. The texture is similar to Maquillage, extremely smooth with an lovely shimmer but without being too powdery or glittery. The spring collection introduces three new Emotional Multiple Eyes. These are very pricey at 5775yen, and with the Japanese yen so high at the moment, I won't be indulging in these just yet but will definitely check them out on my next trip to Japan!

Spring 2010 Collections

Here's a sneak peek at some of the upcoming spring collections from the new issue of Voce. The release dates listed are for Japan and it looks like many brands will be launching in mid-January. The drugstore brands like Esprique Precious and Coffret D'Or will launch earlier in December.

Shu Uemura Eye Shimmer Duo Starry Violet (3990yen, 15 Jan) which consists of a gel-based shade and a loose powder shade. Three pressed eyeshadows and Lunasol Nature Color Eyes #5.

Est Emotional Multiple Eyes #9 (5775yen, 2 Jan).

Voce Sep '09

The September issues of Voce, Biteki and Maquia are all out now at Kinokuniya. I picked up Voce (S$14), mainly for the Paul & Joe zip pouch in the new fall print. The mag also comes with sample sachets of the Paul & Joe Moisturising Foundation Primer #1 and #3 (0.3ml each) and Light Cream Foundation S #30 (2 x 0.3ml). As you can probably guess, the main theme in this issue is fall/winter base makeup with the spotlight on the newest foundations and primers.


The pouch is sadly, yet another thin and flimsy polyester pouch with absolutely no padding which makes it unsuitable for fragile items. It is definitely not as well made as the cushy pouch that is the current GWP at Paul & Joe counters in Singapore.


The mag also included 2 sachets of Est Cream Makeup Active Aura Moist in Ochre 03 and Ochre 05 and 2 sachets of Cleansing Essence Enriched (4.5g each). The latter is a makeup remover with a jelly-like texture and made up of over 58% moisturising ingredients.

Est Website Update

The Est website has been updated with the fall makeup collection. It's a pity that the swatches of the Emotional Multiple Eyes palettes make them look so washed out on the website. I'm pretty sure that these are prettier and more vibrant and shimmery in real life.

Est Fall '09

Here's the promo pic for the Est fall '09 collection. The theme of the collection is "Anger is beautiful", which explains the frowning model in the ad. What an unusual way of selling makeup!


As usual, I've got my eye on the purple quad!


The collection includes four Eyelash Shadows which are waterproof gel eyeliners in #1 Platinum Black, #2 Copper Brown, EX11 Midnight Blue and EX12 Twilight Purple. EX11 and EX12 are limited edition.


The collection will be released on 25 July in Japan.

Addiction

The ad campaign is shot by none other than Karl Lagerfeld, at the personal request of Ayako, the creative director of Addiction. Ayako was also previously the International Makeup Director for Nars.
