Here's a quick round-up of more new cushion foundations by Western brands launching in the upcoming months:

Lancome SPF50+ PA+++ in 6 shades (launching in February). This improved version offers better skin perfecting, hydrating and protection benefits. The cushion also dispenses the foundation more evenly for better application.


Biotherm (launching in March) SPF50 PA+++ with hydrating ingredients such as niacinamide, mannose etc. Provides sun protection for up to 12 hours.

Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Foundation

Bobbi Brown will debut its new Intensive Skin Serum Foundation SPF40 PA++++ (6900yen, 30ml) on 10 April in Japan. Available in 11 shades, it contains extract of cordyceps sinensis, which is used in traditional Chinese medicine for boosting energy. According to the ingredients list (available here), it also contains extracts of watermelon, apple, lychee seed, artemia and lavender oil (which can be a skin irritant). It provides broad spectrum sun protection with the inclusion of titanium dioxide, zinc oxide and octinoxate.

Here's a sneak peek at Bobbi Brown's holiday 2014 collection, due out on 17 October in Japan.

Travel Brush Set (13800yen): Brown leather case with crocodile motif and gold accents. Includes a face blender brush, sheer powder brush, concealer blending and eye blender dual brush, eyeshadow brush, eyeliner brush, eyebrow brush and ultra fine eyeliner dual brush.

Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick Trio (4400yen) with #16 Smoky Topaz (shimmer), #17 Pink Sparkle (shimmer) and #18 Espresso Bean (matte)

Mini Lip & Eye Palette (4000yen): Contains Lip Color in Brown and Natural Pink, High Shimmer Lip Gloss #15 Bare Sparkle, Eyeshadows #51 Ivory, #29 Cement and Black Chocolate.

Cool Eye Palette (6200yen): Contains Eyeshadows in Ivory, Smoky Grey, Almond, Smoked and Metallic Eyeshadows in Pink Quartz and Marble, plus a dual-ended eyeshadow/liner brush.

Bobbi Brown Skin Weightless Powder Foundation

Kate Upton fronts the upcoming ad campaign for Bobbi Brown's new Skin Weightless Powder Foundation SPF16 PA+++. Available in 10 shades, it will retail at 5000yen for the refill and 1300yen for the case starting 5 September in Japan. The long-lasting foundation is designed in Japan, using their most advanced powder technology, and supposedly melds into the skin like liquid foundation without any powdery feel. This will be followed by the limited edition Smoky Nude collection on 19 September. The Shimmer Brick in this collection is a repromote, Sandstone.
