Sleek Vintage Romance i-Divine Palette

For this autumn, Sleek offers up the Vintage Romance i-Divine palette together with Antique blush. Being a collector of the i-Divine palettes, naturally I could not pass this up. Ordering from the Sleek website was a breeze and the products arrived swiftly in good condition. I was pleasantly surprised that although the palette retails at £7.99 and the blush is £4.49 in the UK, Sleek charged me £6.66 for the palette, £3.74 for the blush and only £2.42 for postage to Switzerland.

Vintage Romance features a lovely mix of dramatic stormy hues in autumnal tones of plum, burgundy and antique bronze, mostly with a shimmery metallic finish. The city-themed shade names add a whimsical touch in line with the theme.

For the most part, the eyeshadows have good color payoff, apply smoothly with easy blendability and do not result in too much powdery fallout. The most pigmented shade was Love in London (black with silver shimmer) which makes a great smoky liner shade. The only shade that disappointed in terms of color payoff was Bliss in Barcelona (deep purple) which require some layering to achieve an opaque finish.

Worn over a primer, the eyeshadows last well over eight hours with just a tiny bit of creasing at the inner corners.

Antique blush is a sedate dusky rosy brown hue shot through with silver shimmer flecks. This gives a natural tint of tan color to the cheeks without looking like glitter city.

Here are three looks which show the versatility of the palette. For the first look, I used Marry in Monte Carlo at the inner corners, Bliss in Barcelona in the middle of the lid, Love in London at the outer corners and Lust in LA blended in the crease.

The second look was created with Marry in Monte Carlo on the inner half of the lid, Meet in Madrid in the centre, Court in Cannes at the outer corners and Pretty in Paris over the browbone area. .

The third look was a combination of Court in Cannes on the inner half and Lust in LA on the outer half, with Romance in Rome at the outer corners.

Overall, I enjoyed the creative possibilities offered by Vintage Romance. There aren't any crazily loud colors. The burgundy hues like Marry in Monte Carlo can be difficult to pull off on my skintone but I just use these sparingly in combination with the other shades to avoid the look of an eye infection.

Estee Lauder Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

The Estee Lauder Breast Cancer Awareness campaign is on again in Singapore with the goal of raising funds for mammograms for women from low income groups. 100% of the profits from the following products from Clinique, Estee Lauder, Origins and Bobbi Brown will go to the cause. That's pretty impressive, although there is quite a price difference compared to the US where the Clinique DDML is only US$38, the Advanced Night Repair is US$92 and the Bobbi Brown blush set is US$45.

Lunasol Party Coffret 2013

Here's the official product visual for the Lunasol Party Coffret 2013 (6825yen) set for release on 8 November in Japan. It includes:
* Party Eyes 2013 EX01 Neutral Brown

* Coloring Cheeks N EX01 Warm Pink

* Full Glamour Gloss a EX03 Warm Pink

* Pencil Eyeliner N EX01 Deep Brown

The mix of textures in the eyeshadow palette and blush duo is intriguing and different from anything that Lunasol has released in the past. The eyeshadows look like predominantly a mix of pale golden hues, so the overall look is likely to be rather subtle compared to the more dramatic hues of the current autumn collection. If you are new to the brand, the coffret does offer good value for money and shades that are easy to work with.

Lancome Teint Visionnaire Foundation Review

Lancome's Teint Visionnaire foundation SPF20 is their newest offering that pairs a sheer perfecting foundation with a high coverage precision corrector concealed under the cap. The oil-free foundation is concentrated in LR 2412, the active ingredient in Visionnaire serum, and it is supposed to naturally even out the complexion flawlessly while visibly improves pores and fine lines. It offers the highest level of coverage, more than Teint Idole Ultra (medium coverage with the most matte finish) and Teint Miracle (least coverage but the most luminous finish).

I received a sample of it in 03 Beige Diaphane from the local counter. The shade numbering and names are different for Europe, USA and Asia. Sephora France lists 15 shades (€57) while Lancome USA lists 20 shades (US$60). In Singapore, this retails at S$70 with seven shades available in the usual Asian categories of Ochre, Beige Ochre and Pink Ochre. 03 Beige Diaphane is a tad dark for my MAC NC20 skintone.

The foundation has a very light texture that melds effortlessly into the skin.

The concealer (below) is much thicker in comparison.

I was impressed by the lovely second skin-like texture of Teint Visionnaire which does a good job of evening out my skintone and concealing imperfections without looking like heavy makeup. It makes the skin look better and healthier with a flattering soft satin finish that is not overly dewy. In the pics below, I did not set it with any powder. The concealer worked pretty well for covering up my dark circles and redness around the nose.

The only drawback is that Teint Visionnaire does not work well with oily skintypes. My T-zone was shiny in under an hour, without the use of any primer or moisturiser beforehand. I found myself blotting almost hourly throughout the day, which gets tiring and is basically a dealbreaker for me. Sad to say, while I liked the initial finish, this is obviously not suitable for my skintype so I will not be purchasing it. It should work well for dry to normal skintypes though.

List of ingredients below. This is made in France.
