Jill Stuart Pop Up Store

Jill Stuart will open a pop-up store from 1 February to 13 March at Tokyu Plaza (3rd floor) in Omotesando. Designed to let consumers experience the world of Jill Stuart, the store will include a cafe as well as carry the makeup line, accessories such as handkerchiefs and towels, and tableware. The tableware line is new to the market and will include items such as mugs (3000yen) and plate sets (5000yen).

Jill Stuart 10th Anniversary Mook

Jill Stuart 10th Anniversary Book (1450yen) has just been released in Japan on 24 January. The 56-page book comes with a round vanity case measuring 13.5cm tall and 16.5cm wide. The book looks back on the 10 years of the brand and provides makeup application techniques for their latest Spring 2015 collection. It's been a long time since this brand excited me, and sadly their spring collection seemed like another retreat into the same mind-numbingly boring wash of neutrals and browns that has afflicted other mainstream Japanese brands. Here's hoping that they have more innovative tricks up their sleeve for their 10th anniversary.

Shu Uemura Shu:Palette

Here are close-up pics tweeted by Shu Uemura Japan of the Shu:Palette set for release on 1 February in Japan. Priced at 12,000yen in Japan, it will be available in Singapore in March for S$160.

Dior Snow First Blossom Makeup Collection 2015

Dior will release this DiorSnow First Blossom makeup collection on 27 February in Japan, along with a slew of new whitening skincare products.

1. Snow Rainbow Powder (7600yen): Pure finishing powder composed of four tones - mauve for correcting dullness and sallowness, green for concealing redness, pink for alleviating dullness and white for enhanced translucency and glow.

3. Dior Addict Gloss 003 Edelweiss (white silver shimmer) and 576 Bed of Roses (spring rosy pink) (3300yen)

The skincare range includes Snow Whitening Serum (12500yen), Snow UV Shield 50 Face & Body (6000yen), Snow UV Shield 50 Pearly White (6000yen) and Snow UV Shield 50 (6000yen). There will also be a Snow White Pure & Perfect Powder Foundation SPF30 PA+++ (6700yen, 6 shades) and Snow Whitening Fresh Fluid Foundation (6000yen, 6 shades) but as these are already listed on the Dior Japan website, they appear to be re-promotes from the 2014 Dior Snow collection.

Lunasol Skin Modelling Eyes Kit 2015

Lunasol will release a Skin Modelling Eyes Kit (5000yen) on 6 March in Japan. The kit includes the perennial bestseller Skin Modelling Eyes 01 Beige Beige, a pale pink mini lipstick and blush. See the pics on Beaty.

RMK Casual Solid Foundation and Brush

RMK will debut their new Casual Solid Foundation on 6 March in Japan. The foundation is composed of two parts, Foundation A SPF38 PA+++ (the base color available in 7 shades) and Foundation B, which is a pearl color available in 2 shades (01 Silver and 02 Gold). 01 Silver is recommended for application in the highlight zone for a dimensional effect while 02 Gold can be mixed with the base color and applied all over for a healthy glow. Foundation A is formulated with a 'crystal light oil' to keep skin hydrated and provides natural-looking coverage. Each is sold as a refill (3g) for 2000yen while the case (with brush included) is 1500yen.

There will also be a Casual Solid Foundation Brush (2800yen) with a slanted cut for better fit over the facial contours. The duo fibres also pick up just the right amount of foundation and help produce a polished, glowy finish.

Shu Uemura Lucky Bag - One Day Only!

Shu Uemura will be offering a lucky bag (S$88) for one day only tomorrow (Saturday 24 Jan) at their Ion Orchard and Bugis Junction outlets. The bag contains their iconic products worth over $260, purportedly all full size products only and a mix of makeup and skincare. There will be 150 bags available at Ion and 50 bags available at Bugis, with 10 bags containing an eyeshadow palette worth $98 (likely from the Fall 2014 collection). The stores will both open at 10am. If you purchase a lucky bag plus any eye makeup item, you will receive a two-piece gift. Good luck and happy shopping!

Shiseido Sale Haul

At today's media and VIP preview of the Shiseido private sale, there were extensive offerings from NARS, Ettusais, Cle de Peau, Benefiance, The Skincare, Ibuki, White Lucent and Maquillage. NARS had a wide selection of eyeshadow duos, Multiples, lipglosses, blushes, the Guy Bourdin collection (Holiday 2013), a couple of 6-eyeshadow palettes and blush palettes. NARS' black rubber packaging eventually disintegrates into a sticky disaster in Singapore's humid climate so their makeup was an easy pass for me.

Pretty much the entire NARS skincare range was on offer as well.

Several of Ettusais' product releases from 2013 up to Spring 2014 (the cream blushes and lipglosses).



Lots of foundation choices from Maquillage and Shiseido. Cle de Peau had their cream foundation ($75), silky cream foundation ($65), a watery liquid foundation in a pump bottle ($65), a compact cream foundation and a powder foundation. Their discontinued eyeshadow quads were going at $35 each while the Holiday 2013 Wintry Flower kit was $100.

Since I'm literally drowning in makeup, I purchased mostly skincare to gift to my mother, mother-in-law and aunt. The little one was just waiting to pounce on all the boxes.

Shiseido Private Sale

The Shiseido private sale will take place this Thursday and Friday from 10am to 8pm at the Shiseido office in Orchard Building. It is always massively popular due to the great bargains from an excellent range of brands including NARS, Cle de Peau, Ettusais, Maquillage, Majolica Majorca etc. Definitely not to be missed!

RMK Bradley Theodore Street Essence Collection

RMK teams up with New York-based street artist Bradley Theodore for its Street Essence collection to be released on 18 February exclusively at Isetan Shinjuku with a makeup show by RMK Creative Director Kaori, before rolling out to the other 27 RMK counters in the Isetan-Mitsukoshi group on 4 March. The bold crimson theme and artwork is a radical departure for RMK which usually trades in shimmery pastels and feminine translucent tones.


Exclusive to Isetan Shinjuku is this Collaboration Palette 2015 (9500yen) with four eyeshadows, a blush, a lipgloss, a mascara and RMK's new Casual Solid Foundation (to be launched in March).

The collection also includes Makeup Palette 2015 A and B (4500yen), each comprising two eyeshadows and a blush.
