Canmake Perfect Multi Eyes and new Cream Cheek

Canmake will launch this Perfect Multi Eyes (780yen) on 7 May in Japan. These can also be used on the brows and as eyeliner.

Another new shade of Canmake's popular Cream Cheek was just released on 10 April. This is #14 Apple Cream Red, described as a red tone akin to baby cheeks. See swatches on Beauty in Translation.

Suqqu Lustrous Glowing Skin Video Tutorial

Here's a makeup tutorial by Suqqu makeup artist Noriyuki Yanaka on how to create lustrous glowing skin using their new Lighting Liquid under their Frame Fix Liquid Foundation N and finished off with the Glow Loose Powder.

HABA Summer 2015

HABA will launch its summer collection on 29 May in Japan. It includes:

1. Long Fit Powder (Lucent Pink): Contains sebum-absorbing powders (2484yen)

2. Liquid Eyeliner in black: Resistant against sweat, sebum and water but easily removed with warm water. (1404yen)

3. Silky Eye Color: Marshmallow-like cream that transforms into a powder when applied. (2 shades, 1620yen)

4. VC90 White Stick (3456yen, 3.6g)

HABA seems to have filled the preservative-free beauty niche vacated by FANCL in Singapore. Its products are free of parabens, mineral oil, artificial flavours, petrochemical surfactants and chemically synthesized tar colorings.

Coffret D'Or Summer 2015

Coffret D'Or will release its Summer 2015 color makeup collection on 2 June in Japan. It includes four Soft Glamorous Eyes palettes (3500yen) and 8 new shades of Premium Stay Rouge (2500yen). This is the second phase of Coffret D'Or's ongoing rebranding effort, which started in March 2015 with its new base makeup line.



Each palette contains a cream eyeliner shade (marked as "3" in the diagram), which contains black pearl pigments. "1" is the highlight color, "2" is the medium color, "4" is the blending color and "5" is the nuance color.

Maquillage Holiday 2015

Maquillage will release this Snow Beauty 2 powder (6505yen) on 21 September in Japan. It comes with two different powder puffs and is designed to be used both day and night, to keep skin looking polished. It contains m-tranexamic acid for skin brightening.

RMK Summer 2015

The official visuals for RMK The New Lip collection for Summer 2015, to be released on 1 May, can be viewed on Fashion Press.

Body & Soul Cosmetics Relaunch in Japan

Body & Soul Cosmetics has just relaunched in Japan in the Loft and Tokyu Hands stores with a trio of mineral-based suncare products, a UV Aqua Cream, UV Aqua Mist and UV Aqua Spray. Each product is available in two scented, Night Blooming Jasmine and Island Breeze. The full makeup range is slated to follow in July. Originally launched in 1996, at the height of its success, Body & Soul retailed in Barneys New York and Sephora stores in the US. It was also briefly available in various Asian countries including Singapore. I have vague memories of it, including owning one of their lip glosses in a tin but the brand never seemed to evolve much from its vintage styling. It'll be interesting to see how this new revival performs in the ultra-competitive Japanese market. Of all the beauty brands that have become defunct over the years, this was certainly not one that I expected to be resurrected.

On 10 May in Japan, SKII will release this Facial Treatment Essence Pink Flower Limited Edition Coffret (20500yen) which includes the FTE (217ml), 30 cotton pads and a cotton box.

Paul & Joe June Releases

Paul & Joe will launch their new Smudgeproof Mascara (3000yen) and Waterproof Mascara Duo (3500yen) on 1 June in Japan. Easily removed with warm water, the Smudgeproof Mascara comes in 4 shades: Noel (black), Brown, Blue Hibiscus (LE) and Pink Sandbar (LE). The mascara duo comes in 2 shades (black and brown) and contains hydrolyzed silk protein and olive oil for nourishing the lashes.

Anna Sui Summer 2015

Here are more pics of Anna Sui's new nailpolish line coming up on 4 June in Japan. There are 50 Nail Color N shades (1200yen, 8ml), plus six Nail Art Pen shades (1200yen, 2ml). The tea rose-scented nail colors come in the following finishes: glitter (G), Chocolate Chip (C), Matte (M), Fuzzy (F), Non-Pearl (N) and Shimmer (S).

Ettusais Summer 2015

Ettusais will release the following products on 21 May in Japan:

1. Aqua Foundation SPF20 PA++: Available in two shades, this is supposed to be very light textured with sebum-absorbing powders, organic rosemary and chamomile extracts, mineral-rich spa water and hyaluronic acid. Composed of 65% skincare ingredients. (1500yen, 30ml)


2. Vacances Nail Color: 6 LE shades (240yen)


3. Gel Color Coat: 1 limited edition shade and 2 new shades.PK4, RS2 and BE2 (cocoa cream). (950yen)
