Bobbi Brown Pink Quartz Collection

Bobbi Brown will be launching its Pink Quartz collection in Japan on 1 December, just in time for the holidays. I think this collection may already on sale in the US. I'll probably check out the Pink Quartz Shimmer Brick but I doubt it will be nicer than Peony Shimmer Brick which I've totally fallen in love with since picking it up at Woodbury Common CCO back in September. The shades in Pink Quartz look much paler than Peony which means they will be probably be good only as highlighters.

Aube Spring 2008

Few of the Christmas collections have really caught my fancy this year so I've been impatiently awaiting news of the Spring 2008 collections as spring is usually the season in which most Japanese brands launch their largest collections for the year and introduce new product lines (such as a new eyeshadow palette series). Well, here's the very first glimpse of a Spring 2008 collection from Aube, which is Sofina's flagship mid-end makeup brand that is retailed in both drugstores and department stores in Japan. Aube is one of the few remaining makeup brands that are still regularly discounted by up to 30% in Japanese drugstores so its products are much more affordable compared to its competitors in the same price range such as Maquillage and Esprique Precious.

The collection will include:
1. Rouge Pure Stay longlasting lipstick
2. Impression Eyes: 5 palettes in brown, green, blue, purple and pink
3. Pon Pon Cheek: 3 shades in pink, red and orange (basically a knock-off of the YSL blush pots with the sponge applicator)
4. Mascara

The above are all permanent. There will also be a small limited edition collection that includes Jewellery Shower Eyes EX02 (white, brown and smokey grey ), Rouge Moisture lipgloss and a highlight powder. Unfortunately, one of my favourite Aube products, Glamorous Jewel Powder will be discontinued with the launch of the new Pon Pon Cheeks so do grab these before they are gone.

Lavshuca Winter Collection

Here's a much better picture of the two limited edition Lavshuca winter palettes that will be released on 1 November! The cover looks like a lace motif with the Lavshuca logo. This is definitely going onto my shopping list! This is also the first time that Lavshuca has put out face palettes so the collectability factor is another plus!

Jill Stuart Mook

Jill Stuart has published a so-called "mook" (short for magazine book) that retails for 1260yen and comes with a round compact mirror. Here's a link to a pic of the mirror. The mook features the latest JS clothes, bags, watches, shoes, makeup and skincare for Autumn/Winter along with the current ad campaign featuring Lindsay Lohan. The cover girl is popular Japanese model Rinka, who is also the Aube spokesmodel. It can also be ordered on Amazon Japan. Other designer brands that have published similar mooks that are usually accompanied by a novelty item are Tsumori Chisato and Cath Kidston.

Kinokuniya in Ngee Ann City (Singapore) had about 4 copies yesterday, selling for about S$28 which is a bit pricey especially if you only want the mirror. The mirror has a plastic cover that swivels outwards and is studded with one cheap-looking crystal above the JS logo. It is definitely not as well made as the limited edition round compact mirror that was heavily studded with crystals that JS had released earlier this year but if you like collecting JS novelty items, then you may want to hunt this down before Kinokuniya sells out. Kinokuniya has the mirror on display in a plastic box near the Japanese comics section.

Jill Stuart Website Update

The Jill Stuart website has been updated with the Christmas collection details. The coffret set includes:

The set will retail for 6825yen starting 10 November. The Shimmer Tint Face Color is a cream face illuminator with a non-sticky finish. The Brilliance Eyes Rose Box features shades of pale yellow, pinks and a smokey plum. The pink and plum shades look very similar to those in the existing Brilliance Eyes palettes so if you already own those, you can probably dupe the shades in Rose Dream fairly easily. This being Jill Stuart and the Christmas collection, it will probably sell out before noon on the day of release. Quite a few of those who queue up to buy these sets are actually paid to do so by people looking to turn a profit by re-selling it at online auctions.

Lavshuca Christmas Collection

Finally, a holiday collection that created an instant lemming for me! Lavshuca will be releasing two limited edition palettes for this holiday season. Each contains an eyeshadow pan with three shades and two lip colors. These will retail for 1680yen each. The pic is from the new issue of Bea's Up which apparently has about 10 pages devoted to the Christmas collections.

Maquillage Christmas Part II

Further to my earlier post, turns out that there are actually two limited edition palette cases in Maquillage's Christmas collection. The one on the left is 'Cool Stylish' and the one on the right is 'Cool Feminine'. The pics are from 2Channel.

Maquillage Christmas 2007

Check out this picture of Maquillage's Christmas collection due to be released on 21 November! The collection includes 4 Cyrstallizing Lip Compacts in beige, red, pink and rose. Each lip palette contains a treatment lip base (extreme left), rouge color (2nd from left), nuance gloss (2nd from right) and a clear shiny gloss (extreme right) plus a double-ended brush applicator. The recommended application method is to apply the treatmet lip base first, followed by the rouge color and then topped off with either the nuance gloss or the clear shiny gloss. There will also be a limited edition makeup case that can hold one lip palette refill and two single eyeshadows, plus new shades of nail polishes, single eyeshadows.

Paul & Joe Christmas 2007

Paul & Joe's Christmas collection will be launched on 2 November in Japan. I had posted a picture of one of the makeup kits earlier. Here's a pic of the second set that includes a green purse. There will also be five new pressed face powders including a limited edition shade that has the five petal motif. The face powders are sold as refills separately from the case, which is a great option to have if you already own a P&J face compact. I'll probably pass on this collection since I haven't even touched the limited edition face powders that came out in summer earlier this year!

Givenchy Holiday

Givenchy's diamond-themed Christmas collection will be launched in Japan on 2 November. Some department stores will have exclusive advance launches such as Isetan in Shinjuku and Mitsukoshi in Ginza (17 October). All the items in the collection are limited edition.

Lavshuca Liquid Rouge

As I had reported earlier, Lavshuca will be releasing a new compact sized liquid lipstick, Liquid Rouge (1050yen), on 1 November in Japan. Liquid Rouge will be available in 12 shades and it is supposed to be pigmented with high shine. It contains almond oil for deep moisturising benefits and silk powder for a soft finish. The shades run the usual gamut of pinks, reds, beiges and browns.
