Lancome Color Design Sparkling Intoxication

Lancome released three new Color Design Eye Brightening All-in-One 5 Shadow & Liner Palettes as part of the holiday 2012 collection in the US. I picked the green quad, #505 Sparkling Intoxication (US$49).

The online stock photo does it no justice. It's a true gem with a lovely mix of pearlish, muted satin and shimmery shades with a luminous shine. All the shades applied smoothly with excellent color payoff and easy blendability.

The shade combination is perfect for creating a smoky sultry eye. Although I already own several Color Design palettes, Sparkling Intoxication still stands out as being unique and not easily duped.

Included are tips for how to create looks for day and night, plus two sponge tip applicators (one broad and one narrow).

Using Too Faced Shadow Insurance as the base, I brushed the light beige shade over the browbone area, the shimmery greyish olive shade on the inner half of the lid, the dark greyish green shade on the outer half of the lid, the blackish shade along the upper lashline and the gold shade along the lower lashline and blended above the crease.

The blackish shade with blue shimmer flecks is very intense and works well as an eyeliner shade or for creating a smoky effect. There is some fallout during the application process but it was easily cleaned up. The eyeshadows lasted very well through more than eight hours without creasing.

I think Sparkling Intoxication could well turn out to be one of my favourite Color Design palettes. Made in Canada, it's available on Nordstrom.com.

Hi Iris,

I must agree with you on this quad. It indeed is a very unique color Combi. :)
Today is metro 20% off, looks like I won't be able to locate this quad in sg, right? ;)
