The Body Shop Autumn Leaves Compact

Mag tipped me off that the Body Shop just released its Fall 2010 makeup collection on Friday in Singapore. The star product of the collection is definitely the limited edition Autumn Leaves Compact (S$32.90) which comes in two shades.

If you like MAC Mineralize Skin Finishes, then you will probably like the Autumn Leaves Compacts too as these are essentially glowy highlighters that can be used on the face, neck and décolletage. They are enriched with Community Fair Trade marula oil from Namibia and brazil nut oil from Peru, to help moisturise the skin. The maple leave motif reminds me of Prescriptives, which had a similar product previously.

My guess is that #2 Berry is likely to be the more popular shade. It applies as a soft pinkish shimmer and has a lovely smooth texture. These are best applied with a light hand with a large powder brush (like that shown in the collection display) as the shimmer shows up quite easily.

It gives just the barest tint of pink so you would probably need to use a separate blush if you prefer to have more colour on your cheeks.

#1 Chestnut applies as a soft gold shimmery highlighter. It's not dark enough to provide a bronzing effect but it can help create a lovely sunkissed glow.

The Autumn Leaves Compacts are made in Italy and each has a net weight of 9g, compared to 10g for MAC MSFs.

Here's the ingredients list.

I also received samples of the new Vitamin C Microdermabrasion and Vitamin C Skin Boost. From now until 29 August, if you buy two items from the new Vitamin C range, you can enjoy a 15% discount. If you buy three items, you get a 25% discount. Check out the full list of current promotions here!

The highlighters are really pretty! I've not purchased cosmetics from the body shop in ages but this looks tempting enough. However, the price is quite steep for tbs isn't it? almost as much as a mac blush. I suppose its becos it's limited edition.

hi visee,
Actually these are quite standard prices for TBS makeup but if you are a member, you can get 10% off. So I paid slightly under S$30 for each of these.

Have a great weekend! :)

I usually pass on Body Shop as nothing really caught my eye. That compact in Berry is really pretty looking though. Thanks for the heads up!

I planned to pop by Bodyshop to check out this collection and collect the sample pack for Vitamin C ... BUT I totally forgot about it! (Hopefully it won't sold out fast!)

Did you swatch the Kajal.. how was it???

Hey Chantana,
They didn't have testers for the kajals so I didn't swatch those.
