After two days of playing with the Sleek Bad Girl i-Divine Palette, I thought that it was time to break out The Original palette! I purchased this at Superdrug in London back in October but never got around to using it.
The Original offers a more colourful assortment of shades and hence is more versatile than the Bad Girl palette. It allows you to create easy looks for the day, more fun playful looks for going out, as well as smoky eye looks. At just £5.99, it is also very affordable and great value for money for a dozen well-pigmented mineral based eyeshadows.
Except for the matte black shade, all the other eyeshadows have a metallic finish. There is a plastic sheet overlay but the shades are not named, unlike the Bad Girl palette.
After applying Beauté de Kosé Eye Fantasist PK857 Sugar Glazed Pink all over the lid, I used the included sponge applicator to apply the rose gold shade (2nd fro left in bottom row) from the inner corners to the middle of the upper lid and the inner half of the lower lid; the purple shade in the middle of the lid and along the lower lashline; and the medium pink (3rd from left, bottom row) in the crease.
Next, I applied the blackened blue shade (3rd from left, top row) at the outer "V", using a blender brush for a more graduated effect. I tried using the light yellow shade over the browbone area but it applied as sparse yellow flecks so I used the white shade from the Bad Girl palette instead as the highlighter shade.
For the rest of the look, I used Skin79 Lovely Girl BB Cream topped with a Paul & Joe face powder, Lancome Teint Miracle Natural Light Creator Bare Skin Perfecting Corrector Pen #1, K-Palette Real Lasting Eyebrow 01, Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Liner, Visee Lash Wide Impact (Curl Long) BK002 mascara, By Terry Rose de Rose Blush Fluide and Beauté de Kosé Rouge Fantasist PK891 Raspberry Pink.
With the exception of the light yellow shade, the other shades I used all applied smoothly and were easy to blend. I like the fact that there are not chunky or gritty glitter bits in these eyeshadows. The sponge applicator helps to 'pack' on the colour but do go over the shades with a blending brush to smoothen out the edges. There was a bit of fallout with the purple and blackened blue shades during the application process but none after that. Used in conjunction with a good primer, the eyeshadows last very well over several hours of wear without fading or oxidising.
If you are new to Sleek, I would recommend The Original Palette as a great way of getting into the brand as it allows you to create a myriad of different looks. Now, I'm very tempted to order Sleek's latest Sparkle Palette!

I have only used two shades in the Storm and I already love their intensity. I too have the Sparkle. Can't wait to start using them!

hi,
I've already posted the ingredients list for the Skin79 Lovely Girl BB Cream in this earlier post:

The Lovely Girl BB Cream is not sold in Singapore but it is available in Taiwan and South Korea. The Paul & Joe face powder is a limited edition item from a couple of years ago and no longer available.
